There is no bloody spoiler here! It's all grandstanding due to this new playfully annoying trend about having a character that fans would wet themselves over be concealed until they go see the film. It is not a spoiler.
JJ Abrams came along recently saying it is a spoiler and that's why he was being so secretive, because it is vital to a twist in the plot to keep his identity concealed, but it really is not! It's all a load of bullshit!
Calling him Khan from the beginning of the film would not spoil any plot element at all. The only thing it would do is tell the fans who he is, like it did when it introduced Kirk in the first one. Those in the know would know that he would be the Captain of the Enterprise by the film's end. Those who didn't know that did not have this element spoiled for them by hearing his name. Same with Khan. The fans would know that he is the bad guy and an old genetically engineered super soldier. Those who were not in the know would not know this and would also be none the wiser about any of the plot elements yet to be revealed.
Not many script elements have profited from the creation of the John Harrison persona and there has been even less gained from concealing the fact that he is actualy Khan from the fans.
If anything, the film may have made a whole lot more money from the publicity of Khan's inculsion than anything else. Even from those who didn't know who he was. Non-fans turn to the expertise of fans on such matters. If they see a fan reacting at the name Khan by cumming themselves, then they know that the film is supposed to be really exciting for the fans and are thus intrigued to go see it themselves.
And that's my rant on this, because I can see this trend going too far and franchises losing out financially (which means less budget for sequels and sometimes shitcanning the series altogether which is never good, really). At least the Talia thing was an actual plot twist. This Khan thing is not.
It is not a spoiler. It is bullshit.

Yeah Cumberbatch was [frick]ing badass in this and delivered a stellar performance, too. That guy is awesome. I don't know if it's because he's spent his entire life compensating for having a fvcking stupid name or not, but he is awesome nonetheless.
And Pine! Shit, talk about an unexpectedly perfect performance. Honestly, the guy has come into his own on this one. Really subtle. Watch Pine in this movie. He really nails it, but it's easy to miss, cause it's so subtle.

Cumberbatch is not not Khan he is Gary Mitchell under a new alias. Gary's crew was given orders by Marcus to visit the Klingon war planet, it was a set up and his crew was killed and John Harrison was forced to leave them behind in order to escape. He returned to earth in order to kill Marcus but was put into prison. He then escape stole a ship but was knocked into deep space, when Nero came Harrison aka Gary Mitchel's ship got tangled in the "Lightning storm in space" Where he gained powers, He has been in hyper sleep ever since until the beginning of the movie where he recently drifts back to earth, wakes up and starts a campaign for revenge against Star Fleet. Oh and spoiler...

Having seen this movie twice already, all I can say it´s just as predictable as marvelous.

Even when everything shouts who´s who from the very begining, it doesn´t matter at the end.

Watch it on IMAX 3D. It´s totally worth it.

Waste of money and it won't make a dent in the worldwide box office.

One day they'll get back to making serious Star Trek with intelligent scifi stories on TV where it was meant to be. Not this contrived action movie popcorn shit.

I wouldn't mind that version of the story actually. But wikipedia has the synopsis up already and it's quite different.

The problem is that no matter version of 'Star Trek' we get in the future, you'll always have to make some compromises in today's Hollywood. Be it more action or whatever.

SPOILER ALERT

He is really Khan!! I expected as much before I saw the movie so not so much a twist imo. Thought Cumberbach was epic and the best part of the film. When he wipes out about 50 Klingons you know he is one bad ass. Enjoyed the film although did find the st2 switch around a little strange. (kirk sacrificing instead of spock and spock screaming KHHAAANN!) JJ ABRAMS is going to OWN star wars!!
