You might say our recent return to the galaxy far, far away has overshadowed our next journey to the final frontier somewhat, but Justin Lin's Star Trek Beyond will be with us in just a few months time, so the marketing will soon be reaching warp factor 9 in an effort to remind us how great this franchise can be.

This latest batch of images come courtesy of Chinese website Check, and feature all of the main crew members in their updated uniforms.

STAR TREK BEYOND-1

Zoë Saldana plays Uhura in Star Trek Beyond from Paramount Pictures, Skydance, Bad Robot, Sneaky Shark and Perfect Storm Entertainment

STAR TREK BEYOND-3

Star Trek Beyond is directed by Justin Lin and stars Chris Pine as Captain James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Commander Spock, Karl Urban as LCDR Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy, Simon Pegg as LCDR Montgomery "Scotty" Scott, John Cho as LT Hikaru Sulu, Zoe Saldana as LT Nyota Uhura, Anton Yelchin as Ensign Pavel Chekov, Idris Elba as the film's villain, and Sofia Boutella as the crew's new ally.

The movie is set for release on July 22, 2016.

The shoulder pads of their uniforms look like a rip off of Macross DYRL movie.

I don't want to say I'm foaming at the mouth for this, but as a 'Trek' fan, I'm looking forward to this one. I like the Alternate Reality and I'm excited to see what a new writing team and director do with this version of 'Trek'.

I still think Star Trek works in a more serialized format like the shows on Netflix and the comics by IDW.

It amazes me how little interest in this film I have. I mean, I've been a Trekkie since I was 10 years old (1996) and I have been excited to the point of implosion at the thought of any new Trek movies coming out, but this? Nothing. Nowt. Nada. I suppose knowing all about the development hell it's been through, the rushed production schedule it received when it finally got underway and then receiving that God-awful trailer just made me really not care in the slightest about it. I hope I'm proved wrong.

I hope for future space movies that the producers and director look outside of Zoe Saldana. I like her, but why is it she is the only black female in space? She is in this universe, Gaurdians of the Galaxy and Avatar. Is it because she is the only black person they can think of for these roles, because of typecasting or is she really the best actress they find for the job?

Star Trek probably couldnt even gross a quarter of the Star Wars's box office, which is sad..

@Shanksman -Is is it sad? Your comment is sad. Star Wars is made for 10 year old kids. This is not an insult it's a fact. These kids go to the theater with their parents. You also have parents that grew up watching the first 3 movies and want to watch these movies with their kids. Star Trek is aimed for an older crowd. The only thing they have in common is the word Star in their title.
Why not say it's not gonna make as much money as Avatar or Jurassic World?
Personally the last two STAR TREK movies were better than the last 4 Star Wars
movies. Don't care who made more money. As long as they made enough to keep making them. Don't start shit, you shit. Go phukk a wookie!!
