Still NerdHurt over the obvious Error in stating the USS Franklin was the first Ship to hit warp 4 when it was obviously the Enterprise commanded by Jonathan Archer...

I think it's baffling that they are making a Star Trek 4 despite Anton Yelchin dying. I mean to continue the series without him, isn't that disrespectful to his memory? It's just how they're making a Fast and Furious 8 without Paul Walker. 7 was the perfect sendoff and that should have ended but NO! Vin Diesel has to piss on it and ruin Walker's memory. They should just end this Star Trek run since Abrams gave us that pointless Spock and Uhura romance and that pointless young Kirk scene at the beginning. Not to forget that hapless remake of Wrath of Khan that was Into Darkness.

@ThisIsKurvos - fans should just have to deal with never seeing the franchise again because one member of the team died? yeah you should respect the dead, but stop making a series all together?? that doesn't really make sense

@ThisIsKurvos @ALostCause - And because Chekhov died? He's not exactly a major character. It would be one thing if Zachary Quinto or Chris Pine or Zoe Saldana died. But Cmon man, they're not going to cancel the entire series.

@ThisIsKurvos - Respecting those that are still alive is also, important, so they should keep making them. And, as you have probably heard a million times over the years and just as many movies, keeping the films going is "what Anton would have wanted."

@MustangRon - I guess that makes sense. I never thought of it like that.

I really like this movie. It had it's flaws, but definitely the best of the Kelvin timeline.

As usual, the movie was so-so. The movie was "fun", but that's about it. Really, the only thing I loved was the (*spoiler*) crew photo at the end.

I was SO relieved that they were going to destroy JJ's bastardized version of the Enterprise (worst Enterprise design ever. Fugly, both inside and out). But, much to my disappointment, the (*spoiler*) new Enterprise A at the end of the movie was the exact same crappy design. A total missed opportunity there to undo what JJ did. Looked exactly the same. Total bummer there.

And, I think Captain Kirk flies in every movie, for some reason.

I saw it yesterday and loved it. It was a fun summer popcorn flick with enough nods to the classic series to make me smile. I am kinda worried though about Kirk's father returning for the next movie as time travel AGAIN would seem kinda lame.

I felt this movie was disappointing. All previous movies had a plot that at least made you think. This was just blowing stuff up, then spoon fed plot point, repeat. Oddly enough, my favorite part was when they blew up the swarm playing sabotage. I hope ST 4 attempts to engage my brain a bit more.
