Starting next Friday,
Paramount Pictures will start its roll-out of
Justin Lin's
Star Trek Beyond in twenty-two international markets, including South Korea on August 18, China on September 2, and Japan on October 21.
The critically acclaimed film has been performing quite well at the worldwide box office so far, having grossed nearly $110 million domestic, $56 million foreign, and should receive a major boost when it opens in China, which is home to one of its major co-financiars
Alibaba Pictures. Whether or not is surpasses the final grosses of
Star Trek (2009) and
Star Trek: Into Darkness is yet-to-be seen, but regardless of its final outcome, a fourth installment is already in-development, so we'll definitely be seeing more of Captain Kirk and his illustrious crew in the not-so-distant future.
Last week, we saw a
cool new South Korean poster for the film and today, we have another. Check it out below:
After stopping off at Starbase Earhart, a remote outpost on the fringes of Federation space, the USS Enterprise, halfway into their five-year mission, is destroyed by a powerful, unstoppable wave of unknown aliens. With the crew stranded on a unknown planet and with no apparent means of rescue, they find themselves in conflict with a new ruthless enemy who has a well-earned hatred of the Federation and what it stands for.
