"Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Rise of the Bounty Hunters premieres Friday, October 2, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT)

Coming off of the record-setting first season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Cartoon Network announced today it will premiere a full slate of 22 all-new episodes for season two of the critically acclaimed and top-rated CG-animated series from creator George Lucas and Lucasfilm Animation. The special one-hour season two premiere event of Star Wars: The Clone Wars airs Friday, October 2, at 8 p.m. (et/pt)."

Looks like the second season will be called "Rise Of The Bounty Hunters" seems like a cool title, hopefully like season 1 the episodes will deliver. Season 1 was ranked the #1 cartoon on the air. I would put this cartoon in the same catagory as Wolverine and the X-Men, and the new Spider-Man animated series cartoons. Sounds like Season Two will incorporate the bounty hunters against the back drop of the Star Wars universe as we get to learn how they will now try to take advantage of the ongoing war.

I love Star Wars but I hate this show. I don't understand why they would give Anakin a padwan when they didn't trust him to become a jedi master and you need to be a jedi master to train a padwan. I don't get it...
They made her the same reason they made Robin I bet.

I agree with you Instigator Girl, thats what I thought watching any episode with anakin in it. The episodes without anakin in it are better in my opinion. I really like the Yoda epsiode. What do you think about the live action Star Wars series coming next year in 2010? It's suppose to be set in between epsode 3 and 4. I just hope they dont jerk it up.

As long as they keep Padme and C-3PO out of as many episodes as possible I'm happy, they seem to always screw up the episode. Loved Season 1 BTW.

I also agree with Instigator Girl I just don't understand the reason behind Anakin getting a padawan its like a batman and robin ripoff.

I didnt expect the series to start last year, if memory serves me right Lucasfilm had a casting call earlier this year. But knowing how lucas film works, which is very slow, I figured it wouldnt be till end of 2010 if not the middle of 2011.

The reason for Anakin having a Padawan learner is pretty straightforward...the only thing that surprises me is that there weren't any other of my fellow StarWars Nerds out there that jumped on this one before I did.

Before you can become a master, you must train a Padawan to Knighthood. Once you become a Master, you can take on other Padawans (and many did), but you needn't be a master to take on a learner.
Bringing this discussion back to Comic Books...you should check out some of the StarWars comics. The scene in which Ayala Secura (hot blue Twi'Lek chikkie...-drool-) is made a Knight is the same scene wherein her teacher, Quinlan Vos, is made a Master-She was his first student...

...then, he went all whack-a-doo, and fell to the darkside, but that is another set of comics alltogether.

First time posting, by the way. It's good to meet you all...

Well, I didn't even see the movie until about three months and tried to check some of the episodes, but I noticed the non-master Padawan thing and I developed my own thesis on it. Not very complicated, but I figured in the depth of the war that Yoda was able to give a Padawan to Anakin by some odd Jedi by-law. Yoda might have glimpsed a possible future where Anakin having a Padawan could prevent the darkness that he was fearing. Flimsy I know, but it is something. (Also, I would be shocked if she lives since Anakin and Palpatine both know of her existence. Unless, Anakin lets her go and lies to the boss about it, but I think that killing your padawan measures pretty high on the light to dark swing scale.)

Hi all, my first post here! Yeah, compared to the clone wars cartoon a couple years back this show is crappy. But I do watch for cool eps here and there, like ones centered around just the clones holding the fort or Windu. That ep rocked. But the bounty hunters? C'mon. End the season w/ a real badass, like Dirge.I'll watch season 2 to hope it picks up.

Star Wars is holy ground for me, but even I'll admit I wish the prequels had the length and epic feel of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. That would have been just like winning the lottery. I don't mind saying that the show has some great story lines in it that the movies could have went with. A live action show is going to be hard to pull off because of Battlestar Galactica, the irony kills me that the original Galactica was a poor man's version of Star Wars. Now with the new Galactica having found a massive appeal both from fans and critics Lucas had better come up with something good

the first season was awesome. the trailer for this season is sweet, Aurra Sing is going to be in it which is going to be cool for me because she is one of my favorite bounty hunters.
