"Star Wars Rebels" continues the epic tradition of the legendary Star Wars saga with all-new exciting, action-packed adventures. It is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world. As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people. The clever and motley crew of the starship Ghost is amongst a select few who are brave enough to stand against the Empire. Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, encounter colorful adversaries, embark on thrilling adventures and become heroes with the power to ignite a rebellion.

Star Wars Rebels takes place between Star Wars: Episode III and IV as the Empire tightens its grip on the galaxy and a rebellion begins to form. Executive produced by Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Greg Weisman. The series is scheduled to premiere on October 3rd as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel and will be followed by a series on Disney XD beginning October 13th.

How do you know Rebels isn't going to be great? I mean sure this TV spot looks like it is aimed for a younger audience, but does that mean it will be bad? Not at all. All I'm saying is don't leap to conclusions, watch it be for you bad mouth it. If it does turn out to be terrible, I'll bad mouth it with you though.

Why the hell wouldn't they want to market it for children?? Doopid

Why would they make a Star Wars cartoon aimed at people in their 20's -30's?

that would be a dumb f*ckin move from Disney/Lucas standpoint.

When will some fanboys get it through their thick skulls.... nobody cares what you think is a perfect Star Wars or Marvel or DC version of anything. These are all owned by corporations and they are going to market to the masses...not just you...selfish, big opinion, hard-to-please internet fans.

ok rant done....back to the good stuff :)

Do not judge a book by it's cover.
Look at me, judge me by my size do you?

After seeing some of the extended clips, Rebels seems to have a similar tone as The Clone Wars. Personally, I really enjoyed The Clone Wars, so I think this series has just as much potential. If you didn't like The Clone Wars, then I suspect you won't care for this.

An Oprah's buttload galaxy of characters I want to see more of, and basically none of them in these clips so far.

It's between III and IV, the rise of the Empire, if there's a time to be dark and gritty it's definitely this.
Good thing is that if it's canon they'll probably end hunted down and.. well.. there are no more Jedi after all besides Obi-Wan.

Its got potential, I know Clone Wars was pretty barf inducing the first couple seasons and then started getting significantly better in season 3 after the time skip. The animation still bugs the shit out of me though, they had the same tech from Clone Wars and yet this newer show some how looks worse? What kinda backwards ass logic is that?!
