Alex Pettyfer & Rachel Hurd-Wood Have Apparently Read For Roles In STAR WARS: EPISODE VII

The latest scoop from Latino Review claims that the two young actors have went in for roles in J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Wars flick. Who Pettyfer (I Am Number 4) read for is unknown, but it looks like Hurd-Wood (Peter Pan) might be up for Han and Leia's daughter!

According to Latino review, Alex Pettyfer and English actress/model Rachel Hurd-Wood, both 23, have read for main roles in Star Wars: Episode VII. The site claim that they are certain that Hurd-Wood is up for playing Princess Leia (and presumably Han Solo's) daughter, but they haven't been able to determine which character Pettyfer might play. The also stress that there will be many other actors reading for the roles, and we should not take this to mean they have the gig, or are even the front-runners. As an addition, LR reveal that there should be a major Star Wars casting announcement dropping from Lucasfilm..maybe even later today. Hurd-Wood's biggest role yet was playing Wendy in the latest screen adaptation of Peter Pan, while Pettyfer has appeared in the likes of I Am Number Four, Beastly and more recently Magic Mike.

Pettyfer's only good performance was in MAGIC MIKE, thanks to the awesome Steven Soderbergh

So will Jonathan Taylor Thomas be cast as one of the Solo sons? He 31, and looks like a child of Ford.

What if they have a younger version of Luke and Mara towards the beginning? Kind of like in Star Trek.

@JDUKE That sounds like a reasonable assumption. Although to be honest, I thought Dane Dehaan would've made for a better young Luke.

Alex Pettyfer looks like he could play Ben Skywalker. He does look a lot like Anakin and Luke.

Not sure about Rachel Hurd-Wood though. She looks to young to play Jaina Solo who's about 7-8 years older then Ben. Jaina also has dark hair in the books.

I know it's being rumored that the movie will not follow the books, but I think that'll piss off to many fans if it can't fit in.

Yes to Rachel Hurd-Wood no to Alex. Rachel been good in everything i've seen her in the only problem is those roles haven't given her much attention, which could be a good thing for SW:EVII

@pasto yep
i love alex but he's such a dick and honestly not a good actor. that picture is also incredibly old, both of them.
rachel hurd-wood was wendy in that one peter pan film and the redhead girl in dorian grey and perfume, if anyone remembers those.

Since Chloe Moretz was already attached to this role, back when Matthew Vaughn was directing, If JJ chooses anyone else, he's effectively replacing an already perfect casting decision.

I'm fine with Hurd-Wood, not sold on Pettyfer but I don't have a major issue with him. glad they are going with a few unknowns

Considering their age, they could play the solo twins at an earlier time when they are at the jedi academy. Just dye their hair black. If that is the case Rachel could also maybe play Tenal Ka, the warrior princess.

This could be cool if the next three movies jump every few years and you get the Jacen Solo/Tenal Ka story from Jr. Jedi, to Knights, to Darth Caedus

These people are old!
These are old people!
23?!!
That's okay, for the guy. I mean, he's the villian, anyway. But for the girl? She's too old! Maybe she can be the new Obi-Wan.
I mean, Carrie Fisher was 18/19! This Hurd-Wood will be 24/25!!

I mean, retirement age for a woman in Hollywood is 30. They won't even get a trilogy out of this girl.
