I won't be buying the Star Wars movies until I can get the original versions of the original trilogy remastered in all its glory. Nothing personal, Georgie.

The Adywan version of A New Hope is the only version of that movie worth watching now days...

@Grif I totally agree with you, what's the point of giving us those extra scenes if they're not in the movie. But you know if he put them in he'd only stick them in the special editions :o(

He could do Hercules in a marvel movie.

He could have been a fitting Conan also. Although Momoa actually is a good choice (after seeing him in GOT).

If they change or delete that stupid scene where Han steps on Jaba's tail that would be a good thing.

I wonder if they will ever add in that scene with Biggs and Luke talking on Tatooine. The only place I ever saw that is when Star Wars aired on network Tv the first time and they made it a two parter with extra scenes as filler.

There is a 20 year gap where Jedis are on the run and such. There is room for soin offs there

So any words about when the digitaly remastered Star Wars Holiday Special is released? Maybe they can have subtitels this time.. :) And perhaps they can release a special edition Episode I-III, analogy and puppetery remastered with crappy scenes that makes no sense to the original or are just crappy, removed. I'll actually enjoy those full 10minutes..

Lucas said he destroyed every remaining film reel of the original theatrical cut as part of the process of finding the best cells to remaster in order to make the Special Editions. He said he never liked those versions and considered them unfinished. The American Film Institute asked him for a copy of the original Star Wars for a festival showing and he told them its impossible because it no longer exists!

There are Technicolor Dye prints that exists for SW:Ep4 because that was one of the last films to be shot using that process and its also archive standard. But guess who owns that and won't sanction an anamorphic transfer? ..George Lucas! He last released the Original Theatrical cuts as a non-anamorphic DVD made from a Laserdisc Master. Laserdisc being less in resolution quality in comparison to DVD as well as not being transferred anamorphically meant the movies were Letterboxed for 4:3 viewing only and grainy as hell when blown up to view on a Widescreen TV naturally even worse when blown up for HDTV's.

In short, Lucas wants everyone to love his new versions of the Original Trilogy ONLY, unlike the majority of original Fans out there, he HATES those original versions and is hell bent on wiping them out of existence.

@LoganX35: widescreen has nothing to do with being HD, bro. The aspect ratio whether 1.78 or 2.35 is according to how the film is shot. The 1.78 will cover your entire screen whereas, the 2.35 will show the black bars. I do believe Lucas shot the SW saga 2.35.

@BackwardGalaxy

They already released that on DVD. I have it. It came out with a 2 disc special edition. 1 disc was the most recent cut and the other disc was the original film remastered. He did it for the classic trilogy. There was an article That came with it about how he didn't want to release it because he didn't think it was finished, but the fans were screaming for it!

Everyone has to realize...this isn't about money...he has his fingers in just about everything from Lucasarts to Skywalker Sound. Lucas has said numerous times that he makes these films for himself, because he wants to see it his story the way he wants to on the big screen. He could care less if people would buy it or not. All 6 films could come out in 3D and make no money at all and he'd still be happy and not be stressed for cash.
