Daisy Ridley Shows Off Improved Lightsaber Skills In STAR WARS EPISODE VIII Behind The Scenes Video

Rey managed to overcome Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but she's going to need a lot of help to do the same in Episode VII. It's a good job Luke has taught her some fancy new moves then...

Star Wars: The Force Awakens ended with Kylo Ren being taken to Supreme Leader Snoke to finish his training and Rey hunting down Luke Skywalker in order to begin hers, and based on the video below, it seems like it's been going pretty well for the Jedi hopeful. While the battle between those two characters in that movie was very similar to the lightsaber duels from the original trilogy, it seems like Rian Johnson will be taking things in a slightly more graceful direction, something which makes sense seeing as both Rey and Kylo are very strong in the Force. That should make prequel fans happy!

Oh, and the guy helping Daisy Ridley to perfect these moves? It's Liang Yang, better known as TR-8R in The Force Awakens! Rumour has it that we'll learn the title of Episode VIII on May 4th, but with Disney no doubt keen to have the focus remain on this December's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, it may be a little too soon to bank on that. As always, we're just going to have to wait and see for now.

I really like Daisy. She's been training like crazy. Looking forward to her career since TFA was the very first Star Wars movie I've ever seen and I loved her character. She shows promise as an actress and I wish her well.

kyle Ren, the supposed super baddie for TFA, gets his ass kicked by a girl without any training?

as Josh said above, she had no training, so that's obvi law.

*insert troll-douche Kanye West image here with words - Disney hates man junk*

@xcan - Kylo never got his ass kicked. What movie did you watch where Kylo got his ass kicked? Or are you referring to the fight between Kylo (who hasn't finished his training btw) and Rey who is clearly more powerful than the average Jedi or Sith was able to defend herself and knock him down. Of course, Kylo never tried to kill her cause he wanted to train her but ignore all of that and focus on the fact that Rey is a girl and she beat Kylo.

@obredaan - the laws of star wars training was raped in this movie.

Disney does the WORST job of building up female hero believability in modern film. see scarjo widow and Mary sue Rey for evidence. you want me to believe that a 100lb woman can smoke (not their poles) men twice or three times their size? get Tarantino on the phone and ask him to explain how he made the female characters in 'kill bill' intimidating and scary.

so glad jj is not directing any further recycled star wars movies.

thank you for your interest.

That's one of things I disliked about Ep 7. The lightsaber fights should've been more like the ones in the Old Republic trailers.
