Digital Painting Transforms STAR WARS EPISODE VII's Lupita Nyong'o Into X-MEN's 'Storm'

That digital painting of Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones) as Captain Marvel received a mixed response due to the casting choice, but we're guessing that you'll enjoy seeing Lupita Nyong'o reimagined as Storm for X-Men: Apocalypse - mohawk and all - a lot more!

We know that we'll meet a younger version of Storm in 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse, and when you ask fans who they think should play the character, Lupita Nyong'o's name repeatedly comes up.

This is once again the
work of talented deviantART user "bittermarch" and it gives us a great idea of how the actress - who received a great deal of critical acclaim for her role in 12 Years a Slave - would look as Storm. Of course, with Star Wars Episode VII and The Jungle Book on the way, she may not have time to bring this fan-favourite X-Man to the big screen. What do you think?

At 31, she's probably too old to play this character.

@tazmaniak Halle Berry was 34 when she first played Storm.

We could get storm in black Panther right? She could be a "miracle" right? Right?!?! 😲

@BlacktinAmerica, correct, but Halle Berry was portraying an adult Storm. This Storm will most likely be in her mid-late teens.

@ hufflepuff69

I never could understand why people latched onto the whole they are called miracles in the MCU. All be came The Baron said the age of Miracles are upon us. If you used that logic, then they should be called gifts since Professor Xavier refers to mutants as the gifted in the comics and the movies. People are just retarded.

Lupita would be absolutely perfect for Storm. Loving what I'm seeing in the artwork. I can't believe some of yall don't see it.

One of my biggest gripes about the X-Men franchise from day one is Storm. From the beginning I never liked Halle Berry as Storm. She was just riding high from the Oscar win when they cast her. The role should have gone to Angela Bassett(ageless). She doesn't have an African accent/anything, they never got the hair right, they dumbed down her powers, she is just a token black character and has no depth or purpose in any of the movies.

Take the opportunity and RECAST for Age of Apocalypse and any further X-Men movies.

Btw Fox vs Marvel means we probably will never see Storm and Black Panther on screen together :-/ :-(

Tika Sumpter would rock it as Storm. Lupita is a good choice too!

Hell, Erica Durance could have done better than Halle Berry!

I think its an awesome idea to make her storm i mean she's actually african lol hally berry had a poor excuse for an african accent in the first movie then she suddenly didn't have it anymore i mean wtf is that lol

@SonofBatman, please elaborate.

@DeadpoolMikeyXD I'm with ya 100%. Everyone is jocking Bryan Singer now, but I feel like his vision for Ororo & Jean Grey was flawed from the start. Angela Bassett as Storm was the obvious choice, but Halle was the "Token du Jour". DoFP was a hit, but I don't think Singer gets strong female characters (and I'm not trolling about his sexuality. There are a lot of talented people of all stripes who can write strong female leads, but Singer ain't one of them. Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane is exhibit #2.)

Good call @Nomis, if not for Storm, then hopefully Tika Sumpter will get a CBM role of substance. She's displayed physical presence and acting chops in everything from comedies, over-the top soap operas, angsty teen shows, and big budget musicals. Given her resume and looks, it's too bad her crossover exposure is limited by the "Token du Jour" mentality, which is how we got a mediocre Gamora and a very subpar Storm.

@scruffylookingnerfherder- You said it best. I'd like to see the two ladies mentioned above, but I'd still take Bassett right now too! Screw Singer for dropping that soap- I mean ball...
