A new 15-Minute featurette has hit for the Star Wars films, which were previously helmed by George Lucas, and have now being taken over by Star Trek director J.J. Abrams. The featurette explains the origins of the lightsaber, one of the most powerful weapons in the universe. While it's long, it's well worth the watch for any fans of the franchise.






RETURN OF THE JEDI - In a final battle for the freedom of the galaxy, Luke must come face to face with the dark side in order to turn and save Darth Vader while Han, Leia, Lando, and Chewbacca lead an alliance of rebels and Ewoks.


Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi was directed by Richard Marquand, from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and George Lucas. The cast included: Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia Organa, Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, Kenny Baker as R2-D2, Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca,David Prowse as Darth Vader, Ian McDiarmid as Emperor Palpatine, Alec Guinness as Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi, Sebastian Shaw as Anakin Skywalker, and Frank Oz performing Yoda.

Love star wars! Not excited for new one as of yet don't see the point. I miss Lucas not same with out him before hate on me say he ruin star wars with the prequel remember he made star wars in first place and yes I like the prequels not shame of it.

Cannot wait for ep 7... been too long and get the bad taste of The Phantom Menace outta our mouths, still ep 2 & 3 was pretty good, just way over did it on the CGI shit!

REEEALLY need to confirm if that was 90's Mark Hamill, or Mark Hamill now. Because if that is Hamill NOW...then we should be hearing him confirmed for episode 7.

I guess he had a good excuse story wise to make the lightsaber fights fasters and shit, in the case thats how they original intended and its just that luke was never taught to fight that way, I wonder how the fights will go down in episode 7

This video was on the extra disc for the OT dvd set released 10 years ago. It's not new, Hamill still looks old, etc etc.

Did anyone else find themselves laughing out loud at 5:45 when Luke repeatedly nails darth vader in the face with his lightsaber prop, only to break it over the poor bastards helmet and then look back at camera as if to say "how was that take??"
