Official reviews for Star Wars: The Force Awakens remain embargoed until later in the week but we do have some early twitter reactions from critics and stars attending Episode VII's L.A. premiere. By most accounts, there are plenty of surprises in store!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens 30 years after the events of The Return of the Jedi. Luke Skywalker has gone into seclusion and the remnants of the Galactic Empire are alive and well in the new guise of the First Order. Many of the heroes from the original trilogy such as Han Solo, Princess Leia, C-3PO and Chewbacca continue fighting as members of the Resistance. Joining them are new allies, Poe Dameron, Finn, Rey and BB-8. They'll have their hands full against the powerful forces of the First Order which count Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma among its members.


Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in North American theaters on December 18th. The film has run time of 2hrs and 15 minutes.
