HAN SOLO Director Ron Howard Shares Our First BTS Glimpse Of Donald Glover As A Young Lando Calrissian

It's only a distant monitor shot, but here we have our first official behind-the-scenes look at Spider-Man: Homecoming actor Donald Glover as Han Solo's space-scoundrel pal, Lando Calrissian. Check it out.

Director Ron Howard recently shared a BTS look at Chewie watching what appears to be a pair of canoodling Wookies on a monitor, and now he's posted yet another image from the set of the Han Solo movie to social media.

This time we get our first glimpse of Donald Glover in costume as the younger incarnation of Lando Calrissian. It's not exactly a clear look at the character, but it'll keep us going for now.

Solo and Lando were good friends in the original trilogy, but even before the Cloud City administrator betrayed his old buddy to the Empire there was clearly a rivalry and sense of one-upmanship between the two. So, it should be very interesting to see what kind of dynamic they have in this origin story.

I have no excitement for this film. I hope it surprises but I just don't think it needs to exist.

Still, of all solos, why didn't we get this?

@TheLight - I think the fact that Ewan Mcgreogor wasn't at celebration and didn't send a video (like Sam Jackson and Liam Neeson) strongly hints we will get an Obiwan solo film.

My issue is what can they do for the solo film. It's strongly suggested that obiwan never leaves tatooine (protecting Luke is his life mission now). And many of the "trails" he would face we've already seen in other canon.
In Rebeks he duelled and killed Maul.
In the canon comics and books we've seen him learn to put aside the Jedi side of him self to blend in and seen him protect Luke. You can't have him simply learning the same lessons again in a film.
Additionally, they can't have him face the empire as he has been hiding until ANH.

Again, I'm sure they can think of something worthy, and as I've said, they have only suggested that he has never left the planet so something could draw him off world (but it would have be something really important to justify leaving Luke).

@StormXmen123 -Yeah, I see what you mean. But they can easy state that he might have some "unfinished business" that can be all in one story showing him aging into the Obi-Wan that we see in Ep. IV. Those 19 years are no joke!
