Has Harrison Ford's Broken Leg Seriously Delayed STAR WARS VII?

Earlier this month, Harrison Ford ("Six Days Seven Nights") was injured on the set of J.J. Abrams' Star Wars VII. At first, reports stated that it was just an ankle injury but we were all later informed that he actually broke his leg. A lengthy delay may occur.

The latest Star Wars VII rumor comes from
Jedi News and it is a gloomy one my friends.
We're hearing via a number of sources that production on Episode VII could be delayed due to the severe nature of Harrison Ford's leg injury. We understand a meeting was called this morning at Pinewood to discuss the situation, but the early word is that production of the film could be pushed back by a substantial amount of time.

Additional information from The Metro claims that the delay could be as long as six months. That's quite as surprise since The Hollywood Reporter was told a week ago Harrison Ford would only be out of commission for eight weeks.

The image on the right is the first look at Harrison Ford's broken leg. You can click on it to make it larger, but I warn you that would be a dead giveaway that you're still a virgin. You can see more images of Ford in a wheelchair at the Daily Mail.

Star Wars: Episode VII - Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, David Oyelowow, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film. It's being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on December 18, 2015.

They should not do rewrites they should delay it and not rush out the movie nothing good can come out of that but a sloppy unsatisfying movie. Its there own fault for having a unsafe set Ford got injured and this a result of that.

Disney isn't going to move Star Wars on the same day as BvS. True, BvS wouldn't make it's full potential, but neither would Star Wars. It would hurt both movies. Suggesting to do so only insults the greater minds that plan these things.

This news kind of aligns with Tom Cruise's rumored cameo for the film.

Anyway, I hope the man has a well treated recovery. He's a national treasure.

Maybe it's a sign that this movie should not be made.

@Jilly

That's right - no studio in their right minds would put two huge franchises up against eachother - especially after they both recently had high grossing films and especially given the similar genre and - wait a minute

I don't know how production works so excuse me for my ignorance, but can't they move on to filming different scenes instead of waiting for Ford to recover?
