The final trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was recently released yet for the most part, much of the film's plot and story details remain shrouded in mystery.  It's something that J.J. Abrams is currently enjoying and allows the director to peruse the myriad of fan theories floating around the internet just like any Star Wars fan.   "We’re getting very close, the next thing’s really gonna be the movie.  There will be commercials, but no more trailers.  We’ve all been working really hard to give people something that will be special to them. Our fingers are just very tightly crossed that when people see the movie they’ll like it.”

As far as Luke Sywalker embracing the Dark Side and the Sith, J.J. Abrams stated that he's aware of those theories and finds it entertaining that so many people are trying to gleam hints and clues from who is and isn't prominently featured in the marketing material.  “I saw that too [the theory of Luke going to the Dark Side], I’m always interested in seeing people’s theories.  What’ll be cool when people finally see the movie and see what it really is. Hopefully some people will say, ‘I was right,’ other people will be like, ‘Ah-rah!’ You want people to be debating things even before the movie comes out. It’s a dream!”

Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrives in North American theaters on December 18th, 2015. Abrams directed from a script he contributed to with  Michael Arndt and Lawrence Kasdan. The film stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Max von Sydow.
