"We're gonna do this!"

You read that correctly! Marvel Comics has just announced their newest comic series titled, "Star Wars: Poe Dameron", based off Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron from Star Wars: The Force Awakens! The series will be written by Charles Soule, and illustrated by Phil Noto.

Poe Dameron sketches by artist Phil Noto.

“I’ve seen people on Twitter and Instagram looking for Poe Dameron in the comics. Now the pressure’s on us to deliver.” These words came from Noto, whose Poe sketches can be seen to the right. Soule also gave his thoughts and revealed that “Sometimes it can feel like the Star Wars universe is so well trodden and so many stories have already been told, but the way the Episode VII galaxy is set up, there are opportunities for new archetypes almost, and the bad guy we’re working with is going to feel fresh and cool.”

Star Wars: Poe Dameron is set to be released in April! To get your first look at Noto's cover art for the series, check out the image below!
