With production well underway on J.J. Abrams' Star Wars Episode IX, a new report claims to shed some light on Kylo Ren's updated appearance and plans for loveable droid BB-8. Find out more after the jump!
Star Wars: The Last Jedi featured a lot of controversial storytelling decisions and while things didn't play out the way most of us expected, Rian Johnson set the stage for J.J. Abrams to wrap up the trilogy in some very unique and potentially exciting ways.
Now, Making Star Wars (a very reliable source of information for Star Wars news) has revealed that a number of sources have seen Adam Driver's Kylo Ren wearing a reforged version of his mask in Episode IX. Apparently, it looks like the helmet has been pieced back together "using some kind of red crystalline bonding material."
As a result, the mask now has "a very corrupted look" and it's described as being a little Kylo, a little Vader, and even a little Maul. Needless to say, that will be very interesting to see!
In related news, it's said that BB-8 will have a sidekick of sorts in Episode IX as a little droid named D.O. who looks a like a megaphone will become very attached to the fan-favourite creation, who first appeared in The Force Awakens. He'll view BB-8 like a parent so, no, this isn't the first droid on droid romance in the Star Wars Universe!
