Star Wars Rebels is the new animated series that tells us what took place in the Star Wars universe between the events of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope. The first trailers were released on May 4th, but now we have a new snippet of footage, in French, and it shows us our favorite Jedi, Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi. Sir Alec Guinness played the character in the original trilogy and Ewan McGregor in him in the god awful prequel trilogy. Though, McGregor was one of the few bright spots from those films.
Starring a small band of heroes -- Sabine, Kanan, Hera, Ezra, Zeb, and Chopper -- Star Wars Rebels is set in a time where the Empire rules through fear and shrouds the galaxy in darkness. This trailer offers many new glimpses at sequences from the show, including the starship Ghost chased by TIE Fighters; young Ezra watching as a Star Destroyer looms overhead; Stormtroopers marching; a zero-g fight between our heroes and Imperials; and Kanan, a secret Jedi, assembling his lightsaber and preparing for battle. It ends, however, with an Imperial officer reporting to the Inquisitor -- the Empire's Jedi hunter, seen and heard here for the first time. Star Wars Rebels takes place between Star Wars: Episode III and IV as the Empire tightens its grip on the galaxy and a rebellion begins to form. The series, executive produced by Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Greg Weisman, is scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel and will be followed by a series on Disney XD.

He looks nothing like Alec Guinness that's kinda crappy.
I Have really no expectation for this whatsoever.
Typical Disney crap, a punk rock Mandalorioan? [frick] you Disney.
It's obvious they are gearing this to the Disney crowd, same as their every other show that and it looks like a complete rehash of the New Hope.

looks good. I'm still trying to adjust myself to the whole "the last 20 years of EU never happened and was a colossal waste of money" thing.

Not out of anything sentimental...well, a little sentimentality...but just for the sheer amount of money I've shelled out over that span of time...

George basically just wiped his ass w/ my 20 yr financial investment...and I'm getting shit on my ROI...

Not good for business.

Hm. I like it.

I hope this show is realistic with it's ending. You know they probably have to die right?

Clone Wars was completely different studio and they've ditched it for something dumber that will attract teens. They did that to Spectacular Spiderman, they did that to EMH and this will be no different.

This looks awful in every way.

Greg Weisman ( Gargoyles, Spectacular Spiderman, Young Justice) Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past), and Dave Filoni (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Star Wars: The Clone Wars).

People would be crazy to not at least give this show a chance.

Even when George isn't involved he's the one who gets crapped on by the fans. Poor guy. George has always said the EU is separate from the film continuity, but he wasn't the one to make the official call, other people in Lucasfilm were. So don't blame George.

@StarkAnthony, thank you.

I own the vast majority of the EU novels, and I don't consider one cent wasted. They were great stories, it doesn't matter if they were official canon or not. I'm fine with considering them to be an alternative timeline.

Oh, and the prequel trilogy was fine. RotS was awesome, AotC was good, and even Phantom Menace was ok. The only really bad things were Jar Jar and the cheesiest love story ever, but there was enough good to far outweigh that.

yep after the clone wars movie everyone cried like babies saying how crappy it looked and the whole series was going to be a disaster. Now everyone is crying because they took it off the air. same with rebels, everyone is starting to whine before it gets started and has a chance to develop like the clone wars did.

I watched the first nine episodes of Clone Wars and it was childish as all hell. Maybe it got better later on? This strikes me as way more serious in tone than that was.

Well, those guys seem to be enjoying themselves at least. Maybe I should give this soccer thing a try?

@Vortigar It got way darker in later episodes especially in the last seasons.
