Quentin Tarantino Is "Not Interested In The Simon West Version Of STAR WARS"

Well, it's fair to say that it doesn't sound as if Django Unchained's Quentin Tarantino is a fan of the thought of Disney making new Star Wars movies! I guess this is one name we can cross off the list of potential directors for the future of the franchise...

All we seem to have heard recently is actors and filmmakers expressing their desire to be involved with Disney's Star Wars: Episode VII and beyond. Well, Quentin Tarantino isn't one of them! At the Britannia Awards at the Beverly Hilton hotel on Wednesday, Entertainment Weekly caught up with the director of such films as Pulp Fiction, Inglorious Basterds and Reservoir Dogs and asked him for his thoughts on being part of the new trilogy. "I could so care less," he told the site. Not a fan of the idea then? "No, sorry. Especially if Disney’s going to do it. I’m not interested in the Simon West version of Star Wars." OUCH. For those of you who may not know, West is best known for helming Con Air and The Expendables 2. What do you all think of Tarantino's comments? Too harsh or completely spot on? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!

He COULD so care less? Really? COULD? Good [frick]ing lord, I hate when people say that. It's "I couldn't care less," God damn it!

So there is plenty of room left for caring then QT?

Anyway, don't agree with this. When Disney took over Marvel did we get watered down movies? Plus, doesn't he realize that we've already HIT the lowest point for these movies? If ANY director or studio can produce anything worse than those prequels he will have accomplished a [frick]ing miracle.

Tarantino yapps and whines to much. Like a little girl, pretty sure that's why his movies annoy me

@Ror- Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Things can only get better as far as I'm concerned.
On a side note, Tarantino is awesome, so calm down guys.

I think its funny what Tarantino said, but do disagree.

Disney wouldn't spend 4 billion just to [frick] it up

Shit made for kids? Like Ewoks and Jar Jar...

Disney is much smarter than trying to make a franchise this big specifically for children. They understand the potential and aren't gonna waste billions just to do what Lucas has already done.

I think disney has become synonymous with children films when even the pirates films had non-child elements for instance in potc 3 in singapore it clearly shows a woman get shot in the face and shows the bullet hole in her forehead.

Yes disney releases children movies, but so does paramount, fox and others. Disney didn't exactly water down Avengers and doesn't look like they are watering down Iron Man 3 which actually looks more gritty than the previous ones. So I think people are using preconceived notions when it comes to judging Disney.

As for Tarantino I love Pulp Fiction and a lot of his other films, he's a good director, however, I am not a fan of him dissing cbm's and star wars. It's one thing to not like them, but to outright diss them is just wrong in my eyes.

The guy is just right! Star Wars was born when Lucas was just a regular guy pitching ideas to the big studios. Then the guy became a millionare and he could not care less about his baby and bastardized his own creation just for the sake of money.

Now Star is not something born out of creativity and pure will but a product, a corporate product own but a megaempire.

Even if you don't like Tarantino you need to agree that he does his own thing. He does what he likes, how he likes it and when he feels like doing it.

Obviously he is not going to care. Some of us are not going to care either. Empires only respect what is purposeful to them.

Agreed, but just because Disney owns Star Wars now doesn't mean it will be completely dope by them. They have complete control over what where and who, so if possible, they could collaborate with another studio to get it done. George would have never let that happen.

Is Tarantino even relevant anymore? Last good movie he made was Pulp Fiction and he has been cashing in on that for over a decade.

Tarantino was fantastic early in his career but his head has gotten so fat that is quality of flicks have dropped significatly thinking his name can carry them.

@ BatsFan

I agree with Kevberg, Tarantino is a terrible writer/filmmaker, he is a "Fanboy" director who takes imagery and ideas from other movies which he likes, and mixes them together, kinda like a DJ does with Music, and he even admitted that himself in an interview, that he is a DJ style director. Except, he does it badly. This man has no imagination of his own. Thus his opinion means nothing.

Captain America - was watered Down. Shit the way marvel comics is right now I would say all the films are watered down if you wanna be real about it.

But yeah anyway....QT i disagree with you. I think the next star wars films are in good hands unless that decapitation statement is true.....then we're screwed.
