Well, the latest figures are in and it's not all bad news for Solo: A Star Wars Story. While analysts thought there might be a chance the movie would debut with only $98 million over the four day weekend, it's actually set to earn $103 million which obviously isn't the best result in the world but at this point, Lucasfilm will likely take solace in the fact that it could have been much, much worse.
Still, over three days, the spinoff was only able to earn $84.7 million and nothing has changed overseas because Memorial Day doesn't stretch that far! In comparison, The Force Awakens debuted with $248 million, Rogue One earned $155 million, and The Last Jedi managed to score $220 million domestically.
On the plus side, Solo has landed the best Memorial Day weekend since 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past. However, it wasn't able to top Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End's $139.8 million opening.
Deadpool 2, meanwhile, has moved to second place with a solid $53.5 million, bringing its domestic total to $218.2 million. Avengers: Infinity War nabbed third place with $21.2 million, pushing its domestic haul past $626 million. What did you decide to check out this weekend? Sound off below.
