I was literally just watching the un-remastered version the other day.

If Abrams can even come close to the feelings that the original makes me feel, it'll be worth it.

Cool pics. Not sure which of the original 3 movies are my favorite. But I have seen "A new hope" the most.

I'm surprised people don't trust Abrahams with this.

I think Dpeilberg should've been hired but J.J will own it.

@Godzillafart

Everyone was smitten with Harrison.

I remember getting my mom to buy me a vest and pants with a yellow stripe so I could look like Han. I modified my Lone Ranger gun and holster to look like his blaster too... with a little imagination.

@dirtydanwojo

I agree. The originals evoke such emotion. The chemistry between the actors was amazing. I still feel like the gang is still out there in the universe somewhere having adventures.

Sometimes I almost wish Star Wars had adopted the James Bond formula... releasing a movie every few years, constantly finding good actors to fill the roles and keep the story moving forward. I know the original cast was spot on and hard to replace, but we have debates over the Bonds too. Harrison would've been likened to a Connery. Audiences would enjoy each new version, but never lose appreciation for those who came before.

I'm not trying to take a shot at Star Trek.......but the people that are saying that JJ needs to make Star Wars "cool" are missing the point........Star Wars was always cool.... If anything he made Star Trek like Star Wars IMO......

I think JJ will be okay.......his last 2 "Star Wars......errrr I mean Star Trek" movies were pretty good....

For the record I'm a Star Trek fan.......not a Trekkie by any means....but I respect and enjoy the property sometimes.

@Soto "Expect stereotypical characters such as the comic relief, the token black guy, the misunderstood hero or anti-hero, the female who has a strong personality, and the young hero who must grow up way too fast to conquer evil and personal emotions we just can't control during any type of conquest"

You just described the main characters of the original Star Wars trilogy.

I honestly think that, of all the directors who could've helmed it, JJ Abrams is among the very best choices. He clearly has a deep understanding of Star Wars - what worked, what didn't work, the characters, the mythology... I mean, just watch his two Star Trek movies - they're actually very similar to the original Star Wars trilogy in terms of characters and even certain story elements. Those two films alone show a good balance between classic storytelling and blockbuster special effects, which is exactly what you'd expect of a Star Wars movie.

And, let's face it, he can't possibly make anything worse than the prequels, can he?

Intruder - Thank you for introducing Geoge Plinkett to me....wow....a revelation. I new the prequels were bad but George just sums it all up in such a way.....brilliant!

Alec Guinness being a gangster on set.

Mark Hamill showing he could actually be a cool guy besides the voice of the Joker.

Carrie Fisher back when she was sexy.

Harrison Ford...... That man is a legend.

Just watched A New Hope the other day. Such a classic. Love the original trilogy. And I don't really hate the prequels, aside from Attack of the Clones *shudders*. Hope JJ does this justice. We all know he will. Love the pic with Han and Luke giving a fist bump. So epic

"make sw cool the way they made st cool". I remember seeing every Star Wars film on opening day first run except Episode IV, I saw that like 2 weeks after release. When most kids or younger people today say something like that they are really putting the prequels in a "this is what I saw when I was a kid" phase. They can't really relate to the original trilogy the way people can who were actually around to witness the spectacle when it was NEW. That was a true phenomenon we are likely to never see again in our lifetime.

@SotoJuiceMan: well, at least this time he's going to have a better screenplay with Lindelof, Orci and Kurtzman out of the way.
I hope.

It's really weird for me to see David "the man behind Vader" Prowse in that last picture considering I just stood that close to him last weekend at the Montreal Comic-con. Was talking to Daniel "young Boba Fett" Logan and someone walks up beside me. I figure it was security telling Daniel he had somewhere to be and it was David Frellin' Prowse.

I about shat myself.
