STAR WARS EPISODE VII Cast Officially Announced!

After months of rumors and speculation, J.J. Abrams has finally revealed the main cast members of his new Star Wars movie. Joining the returning stars of the original trilogy are some names we've heard, and some -- such as Andy Serkis -- we haven't! Click on for the announcement in full.

We weren't actually expecting anything official regarding this until May 4th, but I guess the slew of rumors yesterday coupled with the fact that it would have been next to impossible for them to keep the names hidden after today's table read prompted Disney/Lucasfilm to step things up a bit. Anyway, without further delay, here are the main cast members for J.J. Abrams' Star Wars Episode VII:

Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.

Director J.J. Abrams says, "We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."

Well, that is an impressive cast indeed. We knew (pretty much) that Ford, Hamill, Mayhew, Baker and Fisher would be back; and the likes of Driver, Boyega, Ridley and just recently Isaac were strongly rumored...but Sekis, Gleeson and the legendary Max von Sydow are very welcome surprises. Now all we have to do is speculate as to who they'll all be playing! What do you guys think?
