"Star Wars Rebels’ continues the epic tradition of the legendary ‘Star Wars’ saga with all-new exciting, action-packed adventures. It is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world. As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people. But there are a select few who are brave enough to stand up against the endless Stormtroopers and TIE fighters of the Empire: the clever and motley crew of the starship “Ghost.” Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, have thrilling adventures, and become heroes."

Star Wars Rebels takes place between Star Wars: Episode III and IV as the Empire tightens its grip on the galaxy and a rebellion begins to form. The series, executive produced by Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Greg Weisman, is scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel and will be followed by a series on Disney XD.

This looks like a lot of fun in that Spectacular Spider-Man/Avatar: The Last Airbender kind of way.

If pulled off well enough, this is going to be really good.

Who's playing these charactors in the new movie? What? They are before even A New Hope? Well, then this is just a waste of tape.

Saw the 12 minute preview on Disney XD. The use of OT-era vehicles and tech makes a world of difference in making this show look and feel awesome.

I have high hopes for this series, but just based on what I've seen from clips and previews (this one included), Rebels doesn't quite have the maturity level of Clone Wars. This one looks aimed more towards kids.

This to me would definitely be a disappointment since Clone Wars stories were definitely aimed towards an older audience. I just hope Disney isn't going to sacrifice plot substance on this show as they have with animation based on some of their other recent acquisitions (Avengers Assemble, Ultimate Spider-Man).
