STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Set To Shatter Box Office Records?

According to box-office analyst, Star Wars: The Force Awaken is set to have the biggest debut ever! If you thought that Avengers: Age of Ultron was going to set records, this film is set to make $1 billion without blinking! Hit the jump to check out all the details!

According to multiple insiders and box-office analysts, when Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters, it'll have the biggest debut ever! How big are we talking? Well, according to Amboee Brand Intelligence, it will make about $540 million in the first three days, shattering Harry Potter's three-day record which was $483.2 million! But that's just for the first three days, Box-office analyst Phil Contrino says he thinks this film will dethrone Avatar's box office record. "It's in the same spot as Avatar, which played and played and played. Force Awakens will hit $1 billion without blinking. If it's really good, it could cross $2 billion."

Star Wars: The Force Awaken comes out on December 18, during the holiday season. Will that affect this film's chance at crushing records? Well if you think back, Avatar (which holds the record) came out on December 18, the same exact date that the newest Star Wars film is set to release. So the chances that the holidays will affect the film's release are low (very low). Executives are so confident, that one (jokingly) said that if Star Wars: The Force Awakens doesn't open up to the largest debut ever, he'll "run up and down Sunset Boulevard naked." Pretty bold statement right?

Insiders have also said that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will have the have the "widest release ever, opening in over 4,500 locations in North America! Even though that hasn't been confirmed, we've already had two trailers released for the film, and a teaser poster, and so far it doesn't look like the seventh film in the franchise will disappoint! Before you head out, here's a question. Do you think Star Wars: The Force Awakens has what it takes to break records? Phil Contrino certainly does, "If it pleases the fans of the old movies and also appeals to kids, watch out." Sound off below with your thoughts!

Yeah, I have been saying this movie is going to take the thrown of highest grossing film ever...probably...just for being: STAR WARS. EPISODE 7. WITH ORIGINAL CAST MEMBERS!

I don't think any other James Cameron movie or superhero movie will come close to the mad money Star Wars is going to make.

This is my most anticipated film EVER. It will cross a billion in days, and I do believe it will hit 2 billion. Will it pass Titanic and Avatar though? There's a chance, but I'm not sure yet. Only time will tell.

Hopefully this film dethrones the highly dated and bland Avatar

Right now its a two horse race between AoU and Star Wars both can make over 4 billion in total. I'm going with Avengers 2 on this one but the real winner is Disney.

Avatar didn't even make all that much in its opening weekend, which is usually the biggest indication of how much a movie will make in total.

There's literally no way The Force Awakens won't have an absolute monster opening, which already puts it ahead of Avatar...and if it appeals to the new fans and the old ones, if people keep coming back to re-watch it, and if it gets great reviews, you can bet this will clear $2 billion.

Avatar made so much because of the 3D hype. Everyone saw that crap in 3D, as for Titanic...I really have no clue.

Batman v Superman and Avengers Age of Ultron will come close.

Marvel's Spider-Man, Avengers Infinity War part 1 and 2, Justice League part 1 and 2 and of course Star Wars Episode 8 and Star Wars Episode 9 will beat this movie.

I'm telling yall, these superhero films don't have nothing on Star Wars. BVS, AOU, Civil War, it doesn't matter. For the foreseeable future, the Star Wars films will be making Hollywood it's bitch box office wise.

That $4 billion seems like a pretty good investment. I wish I could have ponied up the money.

Avatar - $2.787 billion. 34 weeks in release. Widest - 3461 theatres
Titanic - $2.186 billion. 41 weeks in release. Widest - 3265 theatres
Avengers - $1.518 billion. 22 weeks in release. Widest - 4349 theatres

Tough to say what Avengers would have done with an extra 12-19 weeks of release.

Star Wars could be massive, will be massive. Maybe they can actually churn out a good movie in this franchise.

The Phantom Menace made that much because of the massive amount of hype it had, which is yet another indication that The Force Awakens will dominate.

You know what would be a record shattering movie?

-Tony stark goes to space.

-Lands on an alien planet inhabited by Na'vi

-Takes a transatlantic cruise there.

-An evil wizard without nose attacks the cruise, he happens to be a Gungan. He is looking for the tesseract, which he knows it's on board.

-Luke Skywalker reveals himself as a passenger, he was on vacation

-Luke, Tony and a young wizard who was also on board fight the evil noseless wizard while the surrounding Na'vi defend the cruise (which was a gift of mother nature) from the evil wizard's minions.

-While all this happens a young and poor alien from the outer rim falls in love with a high class Na'vi lady. They need to save themselves from the battle and also from the ship's fate, since it hit a Pandora Iceberg and it's sinking. The Na'vi lady's father is the one holding the Tesseract and the young couple find themselves needing to save their love, their life and the Tesseract.

BOOM! 6 billions right there.

I think Star Wars 7 WILL make $3 billion worldwide and top Avatar and become the highest-grossing film of all-time worldwide.

I doubt it!!!

Eventhough I like JJ Abrams, there are too much Star Wars TV shows out there and so much history that most fans' interest have been saturated. Jedi vs Sith is not anymore interesting. They need to offer more. Something like what Game of Thrones is giving the fans.

@soulofwakanda we've seen the Avengers assemble in the last three years. We haven't seen the original cast of Star Wars on screen since Jedi. I'm arguably more excited for Ultron right now, but it will not outgross Star Wars. Especially after that last teaser.
