Surprised we never saw the knights of ren, I think that would have solved the "underwhelming" feeling people had.

@BillCipher999 -
I doubt it would have solved the 'Underwhelming' feeling. It was primarily 'Underwhelming' because it felt like it was rehashing aspects of the teaser trailer for Episode VII.

Aspects such as the fade in, the jump-scare reveal of a protagonist, the vague comments about the force, a look at a destroyed villain mask, a shot of Rey running, a shot of Kylo, a vague hint towards Luke, a shot of vehicles flying over a landmass/water, a shot of the pilot of one of those vehicles, etc...

It also lacked a strong money shot ending, arguably the teaser seemed to be building to the idea of Luke training Rey to fight Kylo, so it should have really ended on a shot of Rey and Luke either fighting together or fighting as part of her training.

Just did not really catch my attention. It's also strange that Rey is learning the force when she had already surpassed Luke's skills on her own in Episode 7.

@Scarilian - Just because you have skills, doesn't make you a Jedi. That was probably the case as with Kylo Ren, it was Luke's nephew, very strong in the force, Luke probably just let him slide on a few things, because, well, he's family. The money shot you're talking about, that won't be until the third trailer in November, probably Luke with his green lightsaber, Yoda, or Luke using the force like Yoda did.

They will hold off on the great scenes, just as they held off showing Han Solo and Chewbacca until the second full length trailer. That was one of their money shots for The Force Awakens. This is only a teaser, hello, let me say that again, this is ONLY a teaser. It's nothing more than that and it's not meant to be that.

Serious question...

Why are people so upset? This was a teaser trailer.

Sure these teaser trailers are pretty new for Hollywood thanks to the rise of social media and video sharing formats. The marketing of movies is continuously evolving and a 'teaser' trailer should be exactly that.

I loved the Thor teaser but I feel we got too much perhaps. Because when a real trailer comes out it will reveal more of the story then we need to see as the movie tries to compensate for the huge impact of it's teaser.

You guys that are complaining are too spoiled. You get too much and moan when you don't get more than a teaser.

It gave us a taste of what's to come but some of you guys are too greedy and want the whole thing and so complain even when the thing was as advertised. Honestly, it staggers me.

@UltimateCarnage - I wouldn't say upset, happy, but not hyped, needs to show something that gets people hooked.

I agree with being spoiled, but still should have the knights of ren or something like that.
UltimateCarnage
UltimateCarnage - 4/15/2017, 7:33 AM
@BillCipher999 - It was a teaser.

It was either give you a taste of whats to come or nothing at all.

It's like going into a restaurant and the waiter bringing out really nice starter and saying 'compliments of the house'. Then the diner goes 'what's this 5hit? I WANT MY MAIN COURSE!'.

Just enjoy the free food!

@UltimateCarnage - I think a lot of people forgot the term "teaser". Thor, to me, was not a teaser, but more so an actual trailer. An amazing one at that, imo and one of the best i've seen recently. This was the definition of teasing you and get reacquainted with some of the cast, without giving away plot points. Especially when this movie should have a very surprises and things you don't want to get spoiled in a damn trailer.
Menks123
Menks123 - 4/15/2017, 7:35 AM
and I thought this trailer was great for a tease, for a movie coming out on Christmas. Many people will be complaining the next 2 trailers most likely, that they got spoiled or something.

@UltimateCarnage - BUT WHAT We GOT WAS NOT TASTY

UltimateCarnage - 4/15/2017, 7:37 AM
@Menks123 - Exactly!
CaptainElrond
CaptainElrond - 4/15/2017, 7:40 AM
@UltimateCarnage -

@ALostCause explained it pretty well

" want to know why it is underwhelming to some?

this is the third [frick]ing star wars film in a row. the imagery is becoming stale to the point where just seeing the new ship desings and teases of the force aren't enough to excite anymore. the nostalgia is wearing off.

well, that's my theory anyways."
UltimateCarnage
UltimateCarnage - 4/15/2017, 7:42 AM
@BillCipher999 - But that is your taste not mine.

Less of the 'we' please.

Why complain about something that was free because you it didn't fulfill you? You still have so much more to come.

Was the lack of explosions? The lack of action?

I liked the nuanced dramatic tone that was woven throughout. To me it said 'this is going to be more intellectual than the first one. This is going to be a Rian Johnson film. So I enjoyed it. Even without the pew pew of lasers and the woom woom of lightsabres.

But again let me stress, it was a teaser.

CaptainElrond
CaptainElrond - 4/15/2017, 7:45 AM
@UltimateCarnage - dude you asked why people didint like it and I spoke for them

That's why I said "we"
CaptainElrond
CaptainElrond - 4/15/2017, 7:46 AM
@UltimateCarnage - and for the record I did like the trailer, just never got hyped. I'm sure it will be good.
UltimateCarnage
UltimateCarnage - 4/15/2017, 7:47 AM
@BillCipher999 - Who does that speak for?

The 1 million+ people that tweeted about it on Twitter?

The 16 million+ people that watched the teaser on YouTube?

The 1000+ comments that people have made on this very website?

The nostalgia isn't wearing off for everyone. It's just that people love to moan and give a reason for why they are moaning.

You are entitled to your opinion but you cannot speak for everyone and neither can ALostCause. The teaser wasn't bad, it just didn't meet your expectations and that is not the argument you are making but is the only one that is valid.
