STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER IMAX And RealD 3D Posters Are Easily The Best We've Seen Yet

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set to be the final chapter in the long-running "Skywalker Saga" and all eyes are on director J.J. Abrams to deliver a fitting ending to this story.

Something that has underwhelmed thus far, though, is the movie's marketing campaign. The trailers have certainly impressed, but the character posters were put together with promo images from Topps trading cards, and we've yet to see anything that's up there with the work of the legendary Drew Struzan.

Well, until now that is!

IMAX and RealD 3D have revealed their posters for The Rise of Skywalker and, visually, they're both really cool. There are no major reveals (The Emperor is still being kept under wraps), but these are way more imaginative that the previous efforts, which relied far too heavily on the use of Photoshop.

What do you guys think of these new one-sheets for the movie?

weren't both death stars obliterated?

@Tony93 - Yep, I get the feeling they will do a flashback to that moment and show pieces falling to a planet.

@Tony93 - They retconned the Death Star's planet-destroying effects in Rogue One to be slower and more realistic; I'm fine with the idea of the Death Star being blown up with there still being chunks that could go flying and land in certain spots. The same idea's still there; they were both destroyed, it's just a different way of showing it.

@MUTO123 - They never retconned the deathstar in rogue one. It does the exact same as it always does. It doesent destroy any planets in rogue one anyway.

@BountyCipher - For real? Shit, I never caught that. I always figured they just changed up the visual to make it seem more realistic. But if that explanation's really in there, alright.

@Knightrider - you'd think they would write it better and not need the death star remains. unless the death star remains play an important part?

@BountyCipher - Ah, what a totally convincing and necessary use of cgi that was. 😜

@Tony93 - "Now"? Lol This whole "trilogy" has been leaning on nosgalgia, while shitting all over what made us fond of the series and characters to begin with imo.

I wish Finn had force abilities to use at his disposal. I thought that it might explain why he was able to break the storm trooper brain washing. I would've loved to see Rey and Finn f*cking sh*t up, riding around with Poe, Chewbacca, and BB8

Disney is really scraping the bottom of the barrel now eh? Trying to milk every single bit of nostalgia they can to sell this thing.

I bet they are not even going to give the Hildebrandt brothers any money for it.
