The @UKopencall twitter account, has announced a casting call for Disney's Star Wars: Episode VII. Which you can view below. The casting sessions will take place all around the UK and Ireland, in cities such as London, Dublin and Glasgow. They are looking for two actors to take on the male and female roles listed as Thomas and Rachel. Which are both fictitious names to hide their true identity. Descriptions for both characters are also provided, but they're not revealing at all. Fairly vague.

The annoying thing is I'm Smart, Athletic, and potentially even handsome... but I don't turn 18 until a few days after this :(

Any chance they might be looking for a 70+ years old man?

Make it happen.

That description of the guy fits me almost perfectly, with the exception of, "doesn't have the strongest sense of self".

Also, the whole athletic thing.

Something makes me think that they may not be part of the Skywalker/Solo heritage, which is sort of a bold move in my opinion, but one that could work well.

"LEAD ROLES REVEALED THROUGH CASTING CALL..."
"...roles listed as Thomas and Rachel. Which are both fictitious names to hide their true identity."

So then, no? Yes, no, as in these are not the character's names hence nothing has been revealed other than Disney is not telling anyone the names of any of the characters which we know.

It's fairly obvious that "Thomas" and "Rachel" are just going to be students at Luke's reformed Jedi Academy. He's had what, 30 years to rebuild the order? Anyone who has read the books knows that he has done so (even if they are not using anything from the books in the new movies) and the beauty of making the sequels 30 years after the fact is that everything Luke has done for the Jedi in 30 years can be explained in the opening crawl ie: "Luke has traveled the galaxy finding new students to enroll into the Jedi Academy, returning the Jedi to their former glory yadda yadda yadda..." then bang. Luke is old, there are other Jedi now, good ones, bad ones, and good ones who might turn into bad ones...

Ummmm.....where exactly does it say this is for Star Wars? It only says that it's for a Disney film, Star Wars isn't mentioned, unless you left that part of it out. What, Disney couldn't be auditioning for a different film in England? Plus, I would think that a casting call for Star Wars would come from either Lucasfilm or maybe Bad Robot, not Disney. Do casting calls for The Avengers or Iron Man come from Disney or from Marvel?

I always wondered how these casting calls worked. If there was a casting call for a character who is not attractive, would it say:
'Must be ugly, fat, and non-athletic.'

Not sure what info you are hoping to find, but revealing the essence of a character's personality is pretty considerable I think.
