UPDATE: Heroes & Villains Empire Covers For STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Revealed

The Dark Side has never seemed more appealing in the first of Empire's exclusive fold-out covers for their October Winter Preview issue. This Star Wars: The Force Awakens 'villain cover' features the unholy trinity of Adam Driver's 'Kylo Ren', Gwendoline Christie's 'Captain Phasma' and Domhnall Gleeson's 'General Hux' - accompanied by the combat-ready forces of the sinister First Order.

UPDATE: It looks like Empire have brought balance to force and released their hero cover as well. This one predictably features the movie's three protagonists: Daisy Ridley's 'Rey', John Boyega's 'Finn' and Oscar Isaac's 'Poe Damaron' - but they look just as badass as their evil counterparts.

The issue goes on sale in the UK on Thursday, August 27, and Empire have also teased a sneak peek at what's inside the issue over the next few days. In the meantime, what do you think of our new villains? Can they live up to the likes of The Emperor and Darth Vader? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments below!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theatres December 19.
