Though he's shied away from talking about it too much in a recent round of interviews, that awesome BTS featurette that was released during SDCC proved that Simon Pegg has a cameo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Many fans assumed this would happen because his friend J.J. Abrams was directing, and Pegg just so happens to be one of the biggest fans of the galaxy far, far away out there.

The actor has spoken at length about the saga in the past, but during a chat with MTV he was asked to rank the six movies from worst to best in just 1 minute. He does it - but did he place the movies in the order you might expect? Take a look, then be sure to give us your own rankings in the usual place.

Starring original cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker and franchise newcomers, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o and Max von Sydow, Simon Pegg's cameo will be revealed when Star Wars: The Force Awakens is released on December 18th, 2015.

Clones and Menace were hard to split on terribleness, but gave the wooden spoon to Menace purely on volume of Jar Jar presence.

Good order by Pegg. He's obviously given this a lot of thought given how well he did it in under a minute.

For me it's:

1. Empire
2. Revenge of the Sith
3. New Hope
4. Return of the Jedi
5. Phantom Menace
6. Attack of the Clones

The Clone Wars CGI series is the best of the bunch though.

The Prequels are better than J.J.Abrams's Star Trek films though. All of you know it.

I agree with his list...i dont "hate" the prequels tho. Are there people here saying Phantom Menace and Clone Wars are the best?

In general, I'm actually that one guy that prefers the prequels over the originals. I enjoy how they are larger in scope than the originals (that trade federation stuff that everyone finds boring? I love it), and of course, they look much nicer.
But I definitely love them all. I have trouble ranking them, but I can agree with most though that Empire is my favorite of the originals.

1.The Empire Strikes Back THX
2.Star Wars THX
3. Return of The Jedi THX
4. The Force Awakens
5. Episode 8
6. Episode 9

The "Prequels" don't count. They are all terrible, 3 being the least ridiculous. I can appreciate the story behind the fall of the republic and rise of the empire/fall of the Jedi and rise of the Sith, but the CGI was overbearing, the dialogue was atrocious, and the acting was flat. Other than Ewan as Obi-wan, this series took a huge backwards leap in expanding the SW universe. Darth Vader was my favorite villain as a kid and they reduced him to whiny punk pining over the loss of his mother and baby mama.

Empire was amazing. I saw it in the theater as a child with my dad, and the Wampa scared the crap out of me. I didn't appreciate the humor, romance, and plot twist until I was older. It was a huge departure in tone from the first, and set a new standard for sequels. Few sequels surpass the originals, but this one improved in nearly every facet.

I pray that the new movies go back to the original formula and erase the memory of the prequels.

I may change my mind when I rewatch before Force Awakens, but I think I'd stick with A New Hope over Empire. As an achievement, the first film created this entire universe, sparked an incredible franchise, and left a lasting impression on film on its own. Empire builds, but its power is tied to A New Hope and continuing the 'great journey that had already been kicked off.
Dredd97
Dredd97 - 8/3/2015, 6:02 AM
1) the Empire Strikes Back
2) Return of the Jedi
3) Revenge of the Sith
4) Star Wars (I feel terrible putting it lower, but I think the 3 above are better made movies)
5) the Phantom Menace
or
6) Attack of the Clones
The last two have some good, but mostly bad. It doesn't matter where they rank. Hopefully The Force Awakens has a top spot. I'm sure it will.

Well, Whedon once said he likened AOU to Empire Strikes Back. So far, its receiving a similar response to that film when it initially released. I doubt AOU will reach that status, especially considering are extremely more cynical society today than back then.

In complete agreement with Pegg. Empire improved on everything that Star Wars set up, and was the best film because of it. Clones was just the most empty, unexciting piece of shit to ever stain the series. At least Phantom Menace had some decent action scenes.

And y'know, actual locations to film on.
