Vanity Fair gave us our most in-depth look at Star Wars: The Last Jedi to date and in a recent AMA on Reddit to discuss with fans what he saw on set, reporter David Kamp dropped a fascinating new tidbit.
Ever since Star Wars: The Force Awakens, fans have been wondering what the deal is with Supreme Leader Snoke. We know we'll see more of him in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but it doesn't sound as if it will be anywhere near as much as most of us though. In fact, it appears as if we can probably forget all about learning if the villain really does have a true identity beyond what little we know about him.
"I asked Rian Johnson about Snoke—Who/what is he?—and Rian was fairly up front in saying that Snoke is not a character he particularly gets into in TLJ. Hmmm." It sounds like it will be up to Colin Trevorrow and Star Wars Episode IX to delve into Snoke in that case, meaning we need to wait until 2019 to potentially find out if he's really one of the many different characters fans have theorised.
