Earlier this week with the re-opening of Disney's revamped Star Wars attraction Star Tours, we were introduced to the brand new planet of Batuu. It was confirmed that Batuu is, in fact, the location of the upcoming Star Wars-themed land, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, and now we have an official description of the planet park guests will soon get to visit in a galaxy far, far away.

“This remote outpost on the galaxy’s edge was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes, but its prominence was bypassed by the rise of hyperspace travel. Now home to those who prefer to stay out of the mainstream, it has become a thriving port for smugglers, rogue traders and adventurers traveling between the frontier and uncharted space. It’s also a convenient safe haven for those intent on avoiding the expanding reach of the First Order. While Batuu may be new to us, it is clearly already familiar to many characters from the Star Wars saga as a stepping off point for epic adventures.”

At this point it's unclear if Batuu will serve as a location in any future Star Wars movies or games, but there are certainly a few interesting lines in the description. As a "thriving port for smugglers" it's possible we could visit the planet in the upcoming Han Solo film, Solo: A Star Wars Story. Additionally, with mention of the First Order, it's also possible we see Batuu in Episode IX or even in the recently announced new Star Wars trilogy.

Of course, it's also entirely possible that Batuu will simply exist as a planet guests can visit at Disneyland and Disney World. For a better look at the new planet, check out the fly-through of the model in the video below:
