The next Doctor Who special is titled: "The Waters of Mars," and airs on the UK channel BBC1 this Sunday and it heads towards David Tennant's dramatic as always regeneration into um, what is it now? Oh yeah the 11th Doctor who's going to be played by british actor Matt Smith.
Tennant's actual regeneration to another Time Lord happens in the 2-parter "The End of Time," and it'll be the final time he'll be playing the Dr Who role ever. The 1st part is on December 25th Christmas day, and the 2nd part is reported to be on or around New Year's Day.
Because though Tennant has been filming on the spin-off series, "The Sarah Jane Adventures," his final scenes he filmed as the actual Doctor in reality was them even though they have already been broadcast as he filmed the specials way before the CBBC spin-off show but the shows were shown 1st. So some have seen his last scenes but in order of the Doctor Who episodes we've yet to see the real last final scene if that makes any sense to you lol.
Anyway Davids final words go like this, from David himself:
"The last line I said as the Doctor is half-way through an episode and it's, 'You two, with me, spit spot'.
"They were the last words I uttered in the suit, so I guess it was robbed of any epic quality!" Laughs Tennant.
"That was probably best because it was very emotional saying cheerio and filming the very, very final scene was very sad.
"If the scene had coincided with the actual final day, I'd have been in trouble. I was in a bit of trouble as it was, but I was all right, I kept a mildly stiff upper lip!"
Next up for David Tennant is his US TV debut in a new hour-long comedy pilot as the title character in NBC's "Rex Is Not Your Lawyer."
