If you were hypothetically offered a role in Ghostbusters 3... would you take the role? Let's say you're [playing] sort of the dissolute son of Egon, the Harold Ramis character, and you're kind of like John Candy in Splash, you're kind of a mess. But it turns out you're a natural ghost-whisperer, a natural psychic. But here's the thing: Bill Murray's not going to be in this movie, and probably not happy that you are. But you get to be in a major role, in a major movie and one of the greatest franchises of all time. Would you do it? - Transcribed by IO9.com
John Hodgman is best known as a hilarious correspondent for John Stewart's
The Daily Show. He is also known as PC in his "I'm a PC and I'm a Mac" commercial with the actor Justin Long as his nemesis Mac.
This isn't the first time that Hodgman has been attached to
Ghostbusters 3. In March of 2010 he and fellow actor, Patton Oswalt, stated that they wouldn't appear in the sequel, but maybe he is wavering.
The character profile sounds legit, and would fit pretty well in the storyline in my opinion. I think he would be a very good fit as Egon's son, and could pull off the role that he described. Hopefully he'll take on the role, and help make the sequel watchable even if Bill Murray doesn't contribute his talents.
