During Netflix's fan event TUDUM, a new featurette was released (via SFFGazette.com) for Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon which takes us behind the scenes of what was once expected to be the filmmaker's Star Wars movie.
As well as interviews with stars Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Ed Skrein, Bae Doona, and Djimon Hounsou, we even get to see new footage from the sci-fi epic as a number of ships land in a desolate village. A trailer for the two-parter has to be imminent, though this works as an exciting new tease for the first instalment.
"This movie, for me, existed elementally for 20 years," Snyder says in the video below. "It's a story of a few against many, impossible odds, good vs. evil. I'm getting a chance to tell a story that I've been thinking about for quite a while."
Some new stills were released from Rebel Moon earlier this month and you can check those out here.
From Zack Snyder, the filmmaker behind 300, Man of Steel, and Army of the Dead, comes Rebel Moon, an epic science-fantasy event decades in the making.
When a peaceful colony on the edge of a galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of a tyrannical ruling force, Kora (Sofia Boutella), a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival.
Tasked with finding trained fighters who will unite with her in making an impossible stand against the Mother World, Kora assembles a small band of warriors — outsiders, insurgents, peasants and orphans of war from different worlds who share a common need for redemption and revenge. As the shadow of an entire Realm bears down on the unlikeliest of moons, a battle over the fate of a galaxy is waged, and in the process, a new army of heroes is formed.
Rebel Moon is set to be released on Netflix on December 22, 2023.
