SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE Action Figures Offer New Look At Oscar Isaac's Spider-Man 2099

Some new Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse action figures have revealed a new look at Oscar Isaac's Spider-Man 2099 before he takes centre stage in next year's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel.

The first wave of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse action figures were revealed on the show floor at this past weekend's San Diego Comic-Con, and we have a new look at Spider-Man 2099, as a result!

Oscar Isaac will play the futuristic web-slinger in Sony's highly anticipated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel, and his costume is definitely comic accurate. However, despite very much resembling the original design by artist Rick Leonardi, there are a few key changes such as a new take on his chest logo and different shaped eyes.

We first saw Spider-Man 2099 on screen in the previous movie's post-credits scene. Since then, Isaac has expressed his excitement to fully explore Miguel O'Hara, saying: "[W]hat makes this character so funny is that he's the one Spider-Man that doesn't have a sense of humour."

"Because all of them act like - they're like wisecracks, right?" the Moon Knight star added. "Everybody wisecracks, except this guy just doesn't. He's a very serious Spider-Man."

What Spider-Man 2099 brings to the table in this movie promises to be a lot of fun. The character has serious spinoff potential, so assuming fans connect with him in this movie, we wouldn't be at all surprised if that's something Sony is already mulling over.

In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Miles returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga for an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.

The movie's cast includes Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099, Hailee Steinfeld as Spider-Gwen, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, Issa Rae as Spider-Woman, Jorma Taccone As The Vulture, Shea Whigham as Captain George Stacy, and Jason Schwartzman as The Spot.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is currently set to be released in theaters on June 2, 2023.

I don't think the art translates to toys very well. Don't get me wrong, they're fine as toys. But if it wasn't for the box I probably couldn't tell they were based on the movie.
