To date, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: No Way Home has earned over $1.892 billion worldwide, and it looks like one fan contributed to that total a lot more than most.

Guinness World Records confirmed today that Florida resident Ramiro Alanis, a diehard fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, saw the Jon Watts-directed film in theaters 292 times from start-to-finish, setting a brand new world record.

He previously owned the record in 2019, after watching Avengers: Endgame a then-record 191 times. His number was topped in 2021 by Arnaud Klein, who attended 204 screenings of Kaamelott: First Instalment. With the latest turn, Alanis has reset the bar to the highest of levels.

According to Guinness, "In order for each viewing to be successfully counted towards the record total, the movie must be watched independently of any other activity. That means Ramiro couldn’t look at his phone, take a nap, or even go to the bathroom whilst the movie was running.

The film must be watched to completion each time, including all of the credits. Ramiro was already used to doing this though, as every Marvel fan knows not to leave before the post-credits scene. In addition to every ticket stub being submitted as evidence, a statement was taken from a theatre attendant after each viewing to confirm that Ramiro was watching the film throughout."

To achieve the monumental feat, Ramiro initially attended five screenings every day, before switching to back-to-back screenings of the film until theaters stopped playing it earlier this month. He says that by the end, he could "pretty much recite the dialogue along with the movie." He also estimates that he spent close to $3400 total on tickets.

As for his favorite of the three wall-crawlers, he says "Andrew Garfield and his redemption arc.

Tom Holland headlines the billion-dollar blockbuster with a supporting cast consisting of Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson, Angourie Rice as Betty Brant, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Hannibal Buress as Coach Wilson, Martin Starr as Mr. Harrington, J.B. Smoove as Mr. Dell, J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, Benedict Wong as Master Wong, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange.

Tobey Maguire (Peter Parker/Spider-Man), Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker/Spider-Man), Willem Dafoe (Green Goblin), Alfred Molina (Doctor Octopus), Jamie Foxx (Electro), Thomas Haden Church (Sandman), Rhys Ifans (Lizard), and Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock) reprise their roles from the previous Spider-Man films and the Daredevil TV series, respectively.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and Digital HD!

It's estimated that for many languages about 600 hours are needed for basic fluency.

He spent over 700 hours watching Spider-Man.

Well, hey, if he liked the movie that much then good on him. Personally I've only seen it a couple of times and I might do one more (now that I just picked up the disk), but for 200+ viewings you either have to be a diehard fan OR trying to set a record of some kind. Now, let's just hope that this news doesn't go to Sony's head and they start doing something stupid like making movies about Spidey's villains without Spidey...

Wonder did he do it because he liked the movie enough to watch it that much

Or

Did he watch it that much because it was good and he wanted to break the record

Wow, uh that’s cool man. My record is six times. Actually maybe zero times if taking a bathroom break means I didn’t see the movie…
