SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Producer Confirms New Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures Trilogy Starring Tom Holland

Veteran Spider-Man franchise producer Amy Pascal has addressed Tom Holland's future as Peter Parker, revealing that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are developing a new trilogy featuring the web-slinger.

Tom Holland has talked a lot about Spider-Man: No Way Home being the final solo movie he's contracted to star in as Peter Parker, even casting doubt on whether he plans to reprise the role. While the actor did seem open to another trilogy in a recent interview, something has clearly changed behind-the-scenes based on new comments from producer Amy Pascal.

Fandango recently caught up with the Hollywood veteran, and she was quick to interrupt when the site pointed out that Spider-Man: No Way Home will "wrap up this trilogy of films in collaboration with Marvel Studios."

"Can I say something about that? This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie," Pascal stated. "We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel, it just isn't part of..we're thinking of this as three films, and now we're going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies."

She concluded by noting, "Marvel and Sony are going to keep going together as partners."

Clearly, Holland isn't done as Spider-Man quite yet, and with Jon Watts setting his sights on the Fantastic Four reboot, you have to believe the hunt for a new director will begin in due course.

As for where Spidey can possibly go next after this massive Multiversal epic, that obviously remains to be seen. However, Pascal did say elsewhere in the interview that, "The parallel universes make for so many interesting stories, but I don't think that every single movie is going to end up taking place in the multiverse. I think it's really exciting, and this movie certainly does."

Hopefully, this new trilogy will take Peter to college, and there are still plenty of villains for Marvel Studios to pit Spidey against after his meeting with the likes of the Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus. For now, we'll have to wait and see how things play out for the hero in this upcoming threequel!

Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in U.S. on December 17 and in the UK on December 15.
