The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

I never hated the first trilogy. I want to know something though about the first spider-man movie. Was that final swing CGI or practical? Does anyone know?

I've never ever said I don't support this movie? Point out to me when I said I hope this movie fails or it sucks.

I actually do hope it does well and even beat TDKR, I've even pre-ordered the game tie in which is something I never do simply cause I wish to experience more of Webb's take on Spider-man.

The previous films didn't ruin Spider-man *Expect ok, SM3*. What bugs me about you is that A, I've seen you troll other articles constantly bringing up this movie and acting like it's the proper take on Spider-man. You haven't even seen the film yet and already you're talking like it's THE Spider-man movie. For all we know, it could suck balls and yet YOU attack anyone who disagrees with you over this with fair arguements

For the record Gwen wasn't his first love. Liz and Betty say hi.

Better and Liz were the first 2 characters that were written as the love interests but yes, Gwen has a bigger role in the lore...that being she died.

This movie already has won me over? Stop talking like I hate it.

Personally I'm hoping third, that way it can lead into a somewhat darker third series when we can have villains like Cararge or Sin Eater

i didn't hate the raimi spidey films,the first one was good if you can see pass the power ranger version of the green goblin.

the second i think is the third best comic book movie ever made,just behind the avengers & iron man.

the third poor/average i can only watch the action scenes in this movie the rest is too painful to watch.

gwen will die in the second movie paving the way for mary jane in the third,fingers crossed we get a more comic book version of the green goblin.

i hope they don't make too many changes from the comic because that would suck for me,but on the strength of the trailer i think we're gonna be in for a treat.

I loved Spiderman 2.

IF they DO kill Gwen... I hope it's a new version of the Goblin and it sticks close to the comic now.

I hated that in the first trilogy. Gwen was the love of his life... then he fell for Marty Jane, then gave her up for his almost dead aunt. heh So, I hated that they skipped Gwen totally. maybe this will do it right.
