Chris Zylka Is Indeed Playing Flash Thompson In Spider-Man Reboot!

Although we all pretty much guessed this, The Wrap are claiming that an insider has CONFIRMED that the young actor is playing Flash Thompson and not Harry Osborn as recent online rumours have indicated...

Since the actor first dropped hints about getting a role in the upcoming reboot via Twitter, speculation has run rife regarding exactly who it'll be that's he's playing, with Flash Thompson being the fasvourite. Since a few eagle eyed CBMers spotted Zylka in the below set picture, there has been suggestions that he actually looks more like Harry Osborn! Well, not according to The Wrap.

Chris Zylka will play Flash Thompson, Peter Parker's high school nemesis in Marc Webb's "Spider-Man" reboot, an individual familiar with the project has confirmed to TheWrap.

As I'm sure you already know, Flash Thompson character is a football player who is well known for bullying "Puny Parker," but also happens to be a great admirer of Spider-Man. Keep an eye out for him alongside Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Rhys Ifans, Irrfan Khan, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Julianne Nicholson and Annie Parisse all star in the untitled Spider-Man reboot which hits in 3D on July 3, 2012!

HE LOOKS LIKE HE COULD PLAY A DOUCHE...

Ibz
Ibz - 12/9/2010, 3:00 PM
yeah he has douche bag look, but you have to say JoshW that he does look more like harry then flash but maybe this is the reboots way of differentiating from raimi's movies
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 12/9/2010, 3:06 PM
Yeah, he definitely has a Harry Osborn look to him. (especially with that sort of haircut) I hope Zylka does a good job though, and Flash gets a meatier role in this movie because his disike of Peter and love of Spidey could make for a few very interesting scenes! I'm still hoping that Liz Allen and Harry will be in the reboot though...especially the latter, as that of course means NORMAN! :P

Ibz
Ibz - 12/9/2010, 3:08 PM
yeah i would prefer norman to be a background character, he should be around but not too much focus on him, maybe play up the father-son dynamic peter and norman have but that all depends if there going to introduce harry now or later

He's from TWILIGHT right, or GLEE, POTTER? ; P

Ahh I Cant wait For This! I Love Raimi's Spiderman but i just have grown tired of it. so hopefully this will be a great movie

They are probably already looking for a way to reboot Thor, Green Lantern and Captain America. This is ridiculous. Also, watched The Social Network (boring). I do not see how this kid is going to pull off Spiderman. He is the most un-athletic person i have ever seen cast for a CBM. The are going to have to use a different person when he is in costume, he will look absolutely ridiculous in spandex!! He is a lanky, string beam, he would be better suited for Gumby!! Tobey McGuire isn't going to be in the olympics anytime soon, but he looked pretty good after he beefed up.

I'm with CaptainProg here. A resounding "meh" to seeing yet another telling of the origin story.

This guy does look like he could be a good Flash. He's got a good smartass look to him.

Guys @ Personally I agree, its a cop out just to reboot when a movie flops, it will be the end of comic book movies if Hollywood is not careful!

Raimi should have done his 6 part SPIDER-VERSE!

SPIDER-MAN 6: SINISTER SIX would have been beyond epic!

Hey he could of had that planned lol! : P

Nah, he should have been allowed to make up for 3, I cannot see this remake movie even being half as good as SPIDEY 1 & 2 ever!

Hopefully its alright tho lol.

P.S. I've been so against this from the start, all WEBB has to do is put Ultimate in it and I'm gone lol... as for an ORIGIN... [frick] that, it should be made the way 'INCREDIBLE HULK' was done, not another stupid origin.

I knew WEBB was gonna do something stupid... like an origin, just like I know we're getting Ultimate, right from the start! : (

A continuation Reboot is the only way to go... straight in the SPIDEY action and NEW VILLAINS!

@LEEE dosent matter if you go or not, even if no one on this site watches it plenty of other people will flock to watch spider man, no offence to anyone but a lot of us seem to forget that were the minority here theres a whole audience out there for the movie, i definitely know i am going to watch this dosent matter if i like it or not(my mrs is going to drag me to it) the mrs is in love with garfield thats kinda worrying for me lol
Ryden
Ryden - 12/9/2010, 4:00 PM
@SFCamerica- Yeah Andrew Garfield is way to unfit to play an unfit teenage....oh wait, I'm soryr but do you realise how ridiculous that sounds? PP is supposed to be completley unnasuming, he's not built in the slightest, he's toned and that's about it....he's hardly beefy.

And Andrew Garfield can far better than Tobey, no question, go watch Boy A. He also looks a lot more like Peter.

@Ryden garfield is pretty amazing in that film, and check him out in red riding

IBZ @ The way I've heard it lol, a lot of JOE PUBLIC don't like the idea of this new take either...

Question what IF this BOMBS?

It could be a good thing or bad thing, good: SONY will give it up, pretty much what FOX has to do, back to MARVEL STUDIOS or bad: by the time MARVEL STUDIOS does get SPIDEY & X-MEN back Joe Public will not even want yet another reboot franchise, by then they'll be sick of them and SONY & FOX has [frick]ed up our chances of getting the movies we want in a shared Marvel Universe for pretty much forever!
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 12/9/2010, 4:07 PM
Anyways, this and X-Men are treading on thin ice...

With such movies like AVENGERS, GREEN LANTERN, THOR, CAPTAIN AMERICA etc!
Ibz
Ibz - 12/9/2010, 4:07 PM
@LEEE well the "joe public" i know are pretty excited about this did not like SM3.and are glad garfield got the role, that might be due to him being british lol but i guess we'll have to wait and see, but dont get me wrong i want to see everything that is marvel back at marvel, but sony are not as bad FOX thats for sure,

so i will more then give this movie a chance, long as a movie is good no one will get bored SIMPLE, but it could bomb as you said, but a movie isnt based on its box office return all the time is it, SM3 made the most out of the trilogy but the vast majority did not like it
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 12/9/2010, 4:12 PM
IBZ @ If this movie destroys the chances of that VENOM movie that would have been [frick]ing awesome, especially with CARNAGE in and no, it was going to ignore SPIDEY 3 b4 you ask lol, then that will add more fuel to the fire for me!

Well, I don't know who your Joe Public is, but everyone I know doesn't like it at all, or ppl on TV etc when news comes up about it, no ones that thrilled about it?

And most of Joe Public liked Spidey3 so what do they know lol! : P

I didn't like it, but another chance is better that a tits up remake and origin again, can deal with a reboot but not back to day one, bore-a-thon lol.

It needs to be fresh!
Ibz
Ibz - 12/9/2010, 4:17 PM
@LEEE like i said having a british lead means it dosent get bad press here in the UK as much, but like i said we'll just have to wait and see, and sony fricked up SM3 and Ghost Rider, where as FOX well lets not go there, so i think its not fair trynna compare them 2, but having spidey back in marvel would be more then amazing, and Joe public to me is my friends so i cant really say what the whole country as whole thinks dude, i think adding gwen stacy makes it quite fresh and looking at the pics you can already see the difference

IBZ @ ; D

Hey I'm not hating this reboot... its just SPIDEY 1 & 2 are two of the best superhero movies ever made!

I do want this reboot to be good but... going back to day one and Norman Osborn etc, isn't the way to go, still fingers crossed theres no Ultimate and I'll just hate on Fist A$$!

Heh heh! ; P

Hey bud, fingers crossed its good! ; )

(I do have a horrible feeling tho, this reboot is going to ruin any chances of a reboot back at Marvel Studios ever, oh well)

Ibz
Ibz - 12/9/2010, 4:28 PM
@LEEE i know your not dude i can get your point and respect it aswell coz unlike some people you actually your points make sense, and yeah but one thing i would like to see from the ultimate is peter and eddies relationship it, they should basicly be like brothers makes it more personal and interesting when he becomes venom and yeah i think its best if norman is in the back ground only in a couple of scenes(check out my first article on cbm out LEEE)

and if cable shows up in fist ass, i will actually forgive them for using the title first class,

lets hope not dude just keep your fingers crossed

and now thats what you call a healthy debate people

I think Jake Abel who played the Son of Hermes from "Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief" can make an awesome Flash Thompson (The Bully) in the Spiderman reboot

What has he been in? Is he any good?

@LEE, This guy played a Joey in the 10 Things I hate About You tv series...

@SupermanReturns, I agree Abel would own. He's playing a jock who attempts to bully the main character in I Am Number 4...

BTW, is Harry in this?
Elayis

@DEADSH0T

I don't think any of the Osborns are in the reboot (at least in the first film).

Glad to be seeing these photos! :)
Chris definately looks a little more like Harry with that cut than Flash.

@Elayis
Chris has starred in MTV's My Super Psycho Sweet 16 series as well as Disney XD's Zeke and Luther. I'm starting to think the same about the Osborns. They've already started filming and there hasn't been any word on who's been cast as either of them, though some are speculating that Rhys is actually playing Norman rather than Connors. I guess Irrfan Khan's Van Adder is meant to serve as an ersatz (or momentary replacement) for the character until the sequel.

The only actor that really impressed me in the Raimi films is JAMES FRANCO...
His character development was awesome. He reminded me of Harvey Dent, except he redeemed himself in the end...

It seems that everyone'es forgotton where Spidey originated from. Everyone complains that the movies aren't close enough to the comics etc etc Spidey is going back to being a teenager that's a GOOD THING. He was bitten when he was 16 for God's sake!

@LEEE- I wouldn't worry about Spider-Man "bombing", even if this film sucked it would make tonnes of money. It's Spider-Man, easily a cotender for the most popular super-hero in the world, people will go see his movies regardless. The thing is, this reboot sounds awesome. Great lead actor, great director, great supporting cast and villain (so far). The only thing Im worried about is this Van Atter buisness, but I doubt he'll be an outright villain. Probably as big of an impact as the Joker's boss was in Batman 89.

@superman- And how do you come to that conclusion from seeing photos of Gwen at a funeral? What a crazy statement
