DAREDEVIL Star Vincent D'Onofrio Is Still Hoping He'll Show Up In SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Sequel

We won't see Wilson Fisk in The Defenders, but the actor who plays The Kingpin of Crime has taken to social media to make it clear that he wants a role in the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel...

The Kingpin may be best known as a Daredevil villain these days, but don't forget that he first appeared in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #50. Since then, he's crossed paths with the wall-crawler on numerous occasions and spent the first decade or so of his existence as one of Peter Parker's biggest enemies. In live-action, Vincent D'Onofrio currently plays Wilson Fisk in Netflix's Daredevil.

Could we one day see him make the leap to the big screen, though? The actor has made no secret of the fact he wants that to happen and in a recent string of Tweets, D'Onofrio made it clear that he has his sights set on his version of The Kingpin squaring off with Tom Holland's high school superhero following the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming later this year.

While it's certainly possible that this could happen, Fisk will likely first have a major role in Daredevil season three when the show adapts the "Born Again" storyline which saw The Kingpin set out to destroy Matt Murdock's life after learning his secret identity. The relationship between Marvel Studios and Marvel Television will also need to improve if we hope to see this become a reality!

They'd probably have to tone him down a bunch for a Spider-Man movie.

@PilotJohnGrant - True - but they could focus on Fisk the tactician rather than his brutality which we saw so brilliantly done in DD.

@PilotJohnGrant - Lol i think a main role would be overkill, but definitely as a very minor or even cameo would be amazing. Just imagine him and Oscorp shaking hands after a meeting.

That would be a cool cameo and it would help link up the Netflix series with the broader Marvel universe. To marvel I say...
