The Sony Brand Ambassador Andrés Iniesta presented today in the Mobile World Congress 2014 a new The Amazing Spider-Man 2 cross-marketing TV spot, where he is joined by his FC Barcelona Victor Valdés and their Real Madrid rival players Diego López and Alvaro Arbeloa in a super powered soccer battle to promote a new Sony cellphone and the upcoming blockbuster film. Check it out:

The translated press release says:

"We feel immense satisfaction to have been able to incorporate four national sporting heroes next to Spider-Man in the presentation of his new movie The Amazing Spider-Man 2. There is a natural association of qualities such as commitment, responsibility, generosity and sense of humor that could not go unnoticed and this point appears to reflect the partnership between the four football heroes with our friendly neighbor Spider-Man. The audience in Spain have shown over the years that Spider-Man is the country's most beloved superhero and his union with the sport makes it even closer to the public. We greatly appreciate both Sony Mobile and Porsche participation because their support has been critical to this initiative presented today" commented Pepe Ramirez, director of marketing for Sony Pictures Releasing España.

I'm an Apple fanboy through and through, but even I have to admit that this is one of the most clever piece of cross-marketing ever used to promote a superhero film, especially with the World Cup just around the corner. "We've always known that Spider-Man's most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It's great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp."

The Amazing Spider-Man's greatest battle begins in May 2nd, 2014.

@McNyagano

It was resubmitted because it was deleted by a mistake. This news are literally everywhere where soccer matters so I thought it'd be nice to have an article about that here in our community.

So Spider-Man is no longer a Marvel Hero, he's Sony's Ronald McDonald.

I wish Marvel could get enough sway to buy at least partial rights to all of their characters back.

@AnnoDomini

My article wasn't taken down the first time. I purposedly deleted and posted a new one. And I don't get my butt "hurt".

And I don't know about other "people wondering", but you sure seem to never get tired to mention my name in every post you do here.

Don't listen to them Zauri. They're just asshurt that this franchise is gonna make more money than their beloved Dark Knight trilogy.
