According to Deadline, John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein (Vacation, Horrible Bosses 2, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2) are in talks to pen the script for Sony and Marvel's solo Spider-Man movie which has both Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige on board as producers. Apparently Daley and Goldstein were actually on the director shortlist originally, but the gig went to Jon Watts (Cop Car) in the end.

This reboot will take Peter Parker back to high-school, and though exact plot details are unknown, the tone has been likened to that of a John Hughes movie by Feige. Tom Holland will star as the Webhead after debuting in Captain America: Civil War, and the movie is set for release on July 28, 2017.
