SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE Concept Art Takes Us To Scrapped Post-Credits Scene's Bar With No Name

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was packed full of Easter Eggs, but at least one of those was cut. It was last month we first learned that the sequel nearly took us to The Bar With No Name, and a glimpse of the iconic locale has now been revealed.

For those of you unfamiliar with the classic comic book location, it's where Spider-Man's villains tend to hang out. And where they usually get beaten up by the web-slinger, of course! Now, the animated version of the bar is showcased in newly released concept art from the movie.

This was to be the location of a post-credits scene featuring The Spot arriving in The Bar With No Name, only to lay waste to his fellow supervillains before pouring himself a drink...which would have leaked out of each of his holes!

Talking of scrapped cameos, co-director Joaquim Dos Santos recently detailed a cut Spider-Man Variant during an interview with Empire Online

"One of the Toy-Biz Spider-Man toys was going to show up and he was going to have a giant kid’s hand that would go off-screen and hold him," the filmmaker reveals, suggesting things could have got even more bonkers when we first encountered the Spider Society.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.

But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

The movie stars Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Karan Soni, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Oscar Isaac.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now playing in theaters.
