SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE's Digital Release Window Revealed By Producer Christopher Miller

Despite rumours that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse would arrive on Digital platforms this July, franchise producer Christopher Miller has now offered a more specific - and later - release window.

During the pandemic, movies being released on Digital platforms either early or immediately became the norm. Now the box office is starting to look a little more like its old self, things have changed, though there are many studios that have dramatically shorted what was once a firm 90-day release window.

A few days ago, a rumour started doing the rounds which suggested Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse - which first swung in theaters on June 2 - would be available on Digital starting July 18.

Since then, the sequel's producer, Christopher Miller, has debunked the report by making it clear we'll be waiting to watch the movie at home until at least August.

This makes sense as Sony was the only studio not to give up on theaters during the pandemic and they've so far ignored pressure to do anything which runs the risk of negatively impacting the bottom line when it comes to all-important box office revenue.

"A contender for the best Spider-Man film yet and easily the greatest animated movie ever made," we said in our review of the sequel, "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a jaw-dropping spectacle, a feast for the senses, and an instant Marvel classic."

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.

But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

The movie stars Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Karan Soni, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Oscar Isaac.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now playing in theaters.

I figured August or September. Sony is greedy, they movie is great, might as well keep it as a third or fourth option through the summer. Beau is Afraid came out on digital yesterday. If you're gonna watch it, go in dark. You're welcome lol

@bobevanz - imo midsommar is one of the most overrated films of the last decade. Almost entirely derivative of other, better movies, and features some of the laziest, worst written characters Ive ever seen (like the frat boys who want to stay at the paisley murderfest so they get ideas for their term papers).

And dont even get me started on beau is afraid lmao. Watched it last night, and its a struggle just to get through. Its like all the bad student films I saw in college, but with oscar winning actors and a 100mil budget. This is what happens when you give overrated directors too much money and freedom.

And after its critical and box office reception, you can bet your aster that a24 will never make that mistake again.

August isn't that far away, might as well wait until then to see it.

Not at all surprised, and even if it is as soon as August, it will most likely be the very end of August. Just guessing here of course.
