SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Doctor Octopus Hot Toys Figure Offers Closer Look At The Villain's Two Sets Of Arms

Hot Toys has revealed its Doctor Octopus action figure based on the villain's appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and while its likeness to Alfred Molina is questionable, we think you'll like this...

Spider-Man: No Way Home was surrounded in so much secrecy that it's only now we're finally starting to get some slightly more spoilery merchandise. There's still no sign of the Variant Spider-Men, unfortunately, but Hot Toys has just dropped its Doctor Octopus 1/6th scale collectable action figure.

Based on Doc Ock's appearance in the threequel, we get a closer look at the villain's costume and arms. However, its likeness to Alfred Molina is definitely a little suspect, and once the goggles come off...well, we're not sure who that's supposed to be. It will likely be changed when the figure is released, though, as Hot Toys takes feedback on board and makes changes throughout production.

Featuring a newly developed head sculpt, the tailored outfit highlights details on his belt and coat along with bendable tentacles extended from his back with articulated claws. You'll also find a pair of goggles, a tentacle spear, and figure stand, though the "Deluxe Version" will include four additional nanotech tentacles interchangeable with the original ones to recreate that big fight scene.

Peter Parker's Black & Gold and Integrated suits have already been revealed by Hot Toys, as has a classic Green Goblin. We're anticipating Electro will be next, with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Men hopefully following later this year along with the MCU Spider-Man's new suit. It would also be surprising if Norman Osborn's new look isn't highlighted somehow.

Take a look at Hot Toys' Spider-Man: No Way Home Doctor Octopus action figure below:

@outsider - Hottoys usually responds almost immediately to sculpts that fans are negative about. They tweak them and will send out a newly sculpted piece to customers who bought it for free. His hair is awful. Definitely one of their worst hair sculpts.

Hot Toys are overrated. Their prices went up and their quality has dropped significantly for a while now.

I see now the hair was meant to look more comic accurate to his bowl cut look in the books, but I was distracted by his hair being so different. In Spiderman 2 it had a redish auburn hue and was styled with an almost 90s kinda middle part. It wasn't really curly at all, but in NWH it was dark brown with no red tint and was curly now. I almost assumed Molina was a misdirect and wouldn't be OUR Spiderman 2 Doc but a variant of that version. I thought maybe the twist would be they aren't OUR previous villains and their Tobey and Andrew, but random variants of those universes that split at some interesting point from the history we knew in the previous franchises but then they went down different variant paths that led to NWH.

That would have been way too complicated, but maybe really unique if done well. That variant idea could still work for a multiverse ending follow-up to NWH at the end of Phase 4.
