Tom Holland is currently doing the rounds to promote Apple TV+'s The Crowded Room. However, with a dismal 20% score on Rotten Tomatoes, the project appears to be another bad decision for an immensely talented actor who has found most of his success playing Spider-Man (he might want to find a new agent).
With that in mind, it's no wonder that, prior to the WGA strike, Holland was thought to be in talks with Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios about returning as Peter Parker.
Talking to Forbes, the Spider-Man: No Way Home star reflected on sharing the screen with fellow Spider-Man actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in the 2021 blockbuster.
"We obviously had a wonderful connection, the three of us," Holland recalls. "We’d all been through something that was so unique that we’re the only three people that have ever done it. And it was an amazing thing to share. I am so forever grateful for that experience."
"We had a wonderful moment on set with me, Andrew, Tobey, and Amy Pascal, who is somewhat like our mom, and I will never forget that."
As for his MCU future, it sounds like sharing the screen with Deadpool 3 stars Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds is definitely something he'd like to make a reality. "Yeah, of course I have. I’m a big fan of both of those guys," Holland responded when asked if he's thought about working with them. "I’m sure the film is going to be fantastic."
"I know they have George Cottle (Jr.) on their side right now as their stunt coordinator and second unit director. You couldn’t ask for a better guy. So I’m very excited for the film. I wish them all the best and I can’t wait to see those two go at it."
Sadly, it doesn't sound like a Spider-Man cameo is currently on the table for Deadpool 3, but there's always Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (where the web-slinger is rumoured to be the movie's lead).
Stay tuned for updates.
