Zac Efron to be the next Spider-Man.

Zac Efron is set for £9m pay day.

High School Musical star, Zac Efron will take over filming later this year.

Zac Efron will take over from current spidey Tobey Maguire.

Producers believe Zac Efron will bring a new fan base to Spider-Man.

OK magazine is reporting Efron is set to nab a whopping £9million pay day as he dons the trademark red & blue spandex as Spider-Man.

They are also saying the reboot movie is due to start shooting later this year and scheduled to be released in cinemas by 2012.

Spider-Man Tobey Maguire, 34, after quitting the franchise, a studio insider revealed: "After dumping Spidey, Tobey then came to the rescue by recommending that Zac should take over his role."

The Spider-Man Producers believe that Efron, 22, has a massive teen following, which will bring new fans to this new Spider-Man Ultimate reboot franchise with his starring as the red and blue spandex clad superhero and alter ego geeky Peter Parker.

They have also expressed interest in reuniting Efron with gal pal and co-starer of "High School Musical" fame, Vanessa Hudgens. She's hotly tipped to replace Dunst as Mary Jane, Peter Parker's love interest and their source added: "It would be a great coup to land her as well. The franchise would be revitalised and transformed by two of Hollywood’s most gifted and fast-rising young stars."

Thanks to OK magazine for the heads up and their link is below.
