Project Runway Spidersuit Reboot

Project Runway Spidersuit Reboot

From Project Runway's Timm Gunn!

MTV news has the video interview:

"I'm... I'm hesitating," pondered Gunn.

"For me, the Spider-Man costume is really that — it's a costume," he explained. "Which is not to say I really think Batman could navigate the real world in those clothes. Batman could walk into this room right now and be with us, and we would be able to say, 'Sit down. Have a cup of coffee.'"

"With Spider-Man, I feel that's not going to happen. The goo and the glue and the web and all that stuff comes with him, so he's basically a human spider," said Gunn. "There's not that same ease and grace of greeting."

"My concerns [with Spider-Man's suit] are fashion concerns — not superhero function concerns," he said. "I feel that what the Spider-Man costume allows him to do is profoundly important. I feel that there's not an easy transition for that into fashion."

"If it were a matter of how you'd do that, I think it's a little Lady Gaga-esque," said Gunn. "I think it would be hard to do."

And to those who are wondering... no... I don't watch Project Runway.

-ACCESS out. Godspeed and MABUHAY!

If they must change the costume, the only problem I had with the Red and Blue outfit was the silver-ish rubber webbing. Make the webbing thinner, black, and better integrated into the suit (before it kinda looked like spidey was sporting rubber fishnets over his suit). Make the lens bigger covering a more of the mask, sharper points around the corners, and make them white rather than silver. If they're going for a "grittier" Spider-man then go for a deeper crimson red and a darker blue bordering on black. Tell me that wouldn't be a b*d*ss outfit.

As for the Black costume, if they get to it, just stick to the one in the comics, it's simple, sleek, and even a little menacing. All black, white lens, two white patches on the gloves, big white spider symbol in the middle, you can't really go wrong there.
