Spider-Man fights addiction

Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire has admitted to seeking help from Alcoholics Anonymous.

The 28-year-old actor said he was forced to seek help for a drinking problem in order to win back his role in the superhero sequel.

He had originally claimed that he was dropped from the sequel because of a bad back. However, he turned his life around and won back the role after learning how to cope with the pressures of fame.

He called AA 'no frills spirituality' in an interview with Playboy magazine and added, 'There are no hokey traditions. It's so simple. Your life gets better.'

Maguire refused to comment on his love life when asked. He can be seen next in racing flick Seabiscuit.

He reprises his role as Peter Parker for Spider-Man 2, released later this year, along with co-star Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson and Alfred Molina, who joins the cast as the villainous Dr Octopus.
