Zendaya has become one of the most highly in-demand young stars in Hollywood, and has several major big and small screen projects on the horizon.
Zendaya, who has A24's controversial black comedy The Drama (more here) hitting theatres this weekend, is set to star in the third season of HBO's Euphoria, as well as Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Dune: Part Three - and she filmed her scenes for all three around the same time.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Zendaya was asked how she managed to pull off shooting these major projects on such a tight schedule.
"I have no idea," the actress replied. "Good scheduling. A good team. No, it was really – it was quite jarring too, because while we were filming Dune, I would then kind of go off and do Spider-Man and then jump back into Dune and then jump back into Spider-Man."
"Literally, the day I wrapped Euphoria, it was like four in the morning, and I had a flight in the next few hours to go to Budapest to shoot Dune. So, I was like, ‘Pack my whole life up in one night, and let’s go.’"
There are other factors that could have allowed her the opportunity to film these massive blockbusters simultaneously.
We have heard that Zendaya's MJ will only have a minor role in Brand New Day, and if Dune: Part Three sticks closely to the plot of Frank Herbert's Dune: Messiah, she may have even less to do as Chani!
Following the record-breaking success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day begins a brand new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult and living alone after erasing himself and the memories of him from those he loves. In a New York that no longer knows his name, he has devoted himself wholeheartedly to protecting his city as Spider-Man full-time.
But as the demands on him grow, he is put under increasing pressure. This triggers an unexpected physical change that threatens his existence, while a strange wave of crime emerges - and gives rise to one of the most dangerous threats he has ever faced.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers. The film is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad and Rachel O'Connor. The cast includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
